Chapter 20
Previously:
Lucas had spotted me but he had been not caring whenever he looked my way. It also upset me because the waitress was throwing herself at him, and he was flirting back!
Enough of the bad stuff. To be honest I was really enjoying myself. Food here was actually delicious, and Todd was the opposite of Lucas but I found myself enjoying his company. He was kind and considerate. He always had something to talk about, and was an extremely positive person. It was refreshing.
"So you really like him, huh?" Todd said glancing at Lucas and then back at me. This had been Tara's plan or at least phase 1, Tara was planning to drive him crazy with jealousy. I know it was wrong but I had tried to approach him for the past two weeks and it wasn't working.
"Umhm," I hummed. I knew I should be trying to get over him I mean he was really no good but I only found myself wishing I had let him explain himself that day in the alley. That felt like years ago now though.

"Oh, are you ready for your date?" my mom said excited. It was officially the third day of winter break. Tara had managed to do enough snooping to know that Lucas was going to the mall to go christmas shopping. Something the girls and I would be doing tomorrow.
"Yes," I said as I watched her fix my hair in the mirror again. We had decided to let my parents think this was a real date to try and distract them from the odd behaviour that had not gone unnoticed by them.
"What dose he look like?" my mom asked as she continued to flatten out fly alway hairs I hadn't noticed when I had done it.
"Um... he is blonde, and tall, to be honest just think of a blonde male Alice," I said as I checked my phone. Tara, Alice and Kylie wanted me to update them constantly as I wandered around the mall.
They were going to sneak around and tell me which stores to coincidentally pass by. We had a plan, whether or not it would work is the question.
To be honest I didn't think the plan was working all too well. Lucas had acted a hell of a lot like he didn't care last time I saw him, I think he had actually moved on. I wish I could say the same for me.
"Do you find him attractive?" my mom asked teasing me.
"I am going out on a date with him," I told her as I continued to play with my phone. Honestly I thought that Todd was attractive but he wasn't Lucas.
"I am proud of you too, putting yourself out there after you and Lucas broke up, why had you too broken up again?" she asked me. I had recently found myself asking the same question. At the time it was what I thought I wanted but now I wanth to go back and explain things to the me who had been surrounded by ignorance.
"Can we not talk about it?" I asked her as I got up and gave her a hug as Todd had sent me a message telling me he was here.
"Of course sweetheart," she said as she walked downstairs with me to the door that had just been knocked on.
"Hey," Todd said looking at me from the other side of the doorway.
"Hi," I said as I stepped out so that I could walk with him to his car, or rather Alice's sister's car.
I waved to my mom and then Todd made a show of taking my hand in his before we approached the car.
"So are you actually buying anything today?" Todd asked me as he opened the passenger door for me.
