Chapter 16- Sadness

~Midnight~

I look over at Angel, who is snoring softly on Stiles shoulder. I sighed.

I feel so lonely...

I plug in my headphone's and start Hunter Hayes "Wanted"

You know I'd fall apart without you

I don't know how you do what you do

Makes sense when I'm with you

But it's more than one and one makes two

So put aside the math and the logic of it

I feel tears start to fall, and I quickly close my laptop, and run down the hallway to my room. 

I lock my door, and slide down to the floor.

I sob into my knees, and I hear Red and Angel run up the stairs.

"Midnight?! What's wrong!" Red call's, and I scoot away from the door.

Why does it always have to be me?

I unlock my door, and Red comes bursting in.

"Midnight! What happened honey?" She asks, and wraps me in a warm imbrace.

I sob into her shoulder, and she rubs soothing circles on my back. Her sweater is soaked by the time I stop crying, but she looks at me with comforting eyes.

"You wanna tell me what's up?" she asks gently, and I nod.

"I feel so alone. Whenever i see you and Steam together, or Angel and Stiles, it makes me feel so lonely. I wish I had someone to hold my hand, and make me feel like the only girl in the world." I say, and i start crying again.

"Shhhh..." Red cooes, and starts rocking me back and forth. 

I cried until my throat hurt, and Red laid me down on my bed. She pull's the covers up to my chest, sits in the side of the bed, and strokes my hair.

"Your mate's out there waiting for you Midnight. All you have to do is wait; but i'm sure that you'll be OK until they find you. I'm here to talk if you want, just remember that." Red says, and kisses my forehead like i'm her child.

I glance at the clock, and realize that it's 10 o'clock.

Then Red turns off the light, and shuts the door. 

I fall into another dreamless sleep, wondering who my mate is and where he is.
