Chapter 7: I like Crazy

Okay, lately, things been strange in the tour bus. Luke hasn’t been talking to be and every time we do talk, he avoids eye contact with me. Then, the guys has been extra weird around Luke every time he’s with me. Calum would raise his eyebrows at him, while Michael would compliment him saying how sexy he is or that his hair is very luscious or something like that, and Ashton would keep having some PDA with him like putting his arm around him or put his hand on his thigh. Yeah, these group of guys are strange....

FLASHBACK - Luke POV:

When Calum came back, he came up to me and put his around my shoulder, “Now, mate, tell us why Lani was sleeping in your bunk.”
I shot a look at him, “What?!”

“Oh yeeeah!!!” Ashton gasped, “She’s the one who pushed you off!”
“What was that all about?” Michael asked me.
I sighed, “It’s a really complicated story.”

“We got time.” Calum insisted, and I groaned, “Fine.” 
I explained everything from when she asked me to sleep in my bunk, the kiss and to the falling off the bunk part.
“SHE KISSED YOU?!” They gasped and I shushed them, and whispered, “SHUT IT. She was half asleep! She probably thinks it’s a weird dream, but promise me to NEVER tell Malulani what happened.”

“Why?” Calum asked and Michael added, “Obviously you two are extremely attracted to each other.”
“In a very sexual way apparently.” Ashton joked and the guys giggled. I rolled my eyes, “That’s why. When we’re together, it’s seriously like we have the time of the world on the palm of our hands. That we can get closer, but Malulani won’t let it happen.”

“Well, duh.” Ashton stated, “Did you not hear what Ben said to us? To not butt in her past.”
“Yeah, dude.” Calum shook his head at me, “Just imagine how Lani feels. She’s with guys all the time now, and she just got back doing what she loves doing even though it makes her extremely uncomfortable. If just showing off her skills make her uncomfortable, imagine with emotions and guys.”
I nodded, “You got a point.”
“But mate,” Michael put his hand on my shoulder, “We all can tell Lani wants to open up and the only person she’s comfortable with is you. So take baby steps.”
“Yeah,” Ashton agreed, “Don’t fuck it up by rushing it. I mean, you guys kissed twice already, but both were unintentional so just be careful around her.”
“Yeah, you guys kissed...” Calum said till his voice trailed off, and his eyes widened, “YOU KISSED TWICE?!?! NOT ONCE!” He put up his index finger, then put up another one, “BUT TWICE?! LUKE, IT’S ONLY BEEN THREE DAYS!!”
I shot a look at Ashton who was grinning at me widely and shrugged, “Sorry...slipped out.”

I sighed, and brushed my hand across my hair, “I know, I know. It’s really bad, and she doesn’t know that they actually happened.”

“Holy shit..” Michael chuckled, “So you want her in bed or something?”

I slapped Michael’s chest, “DUDE. Of coarse not! I told you guys..” I groaned, “It’s complicated.”

“It’s not complicated!” Calum replied, “YOU JUST HAVE TO GET TO KNOW THE GIRL BETTER BEFORE TRYING TO GET IN HER PANTIES.”

“IT’S NOT LIKE THAT!!!” I yelled back till we heard a knocked on the wall.
We all looked at the direction and we see Malulani smiling at us, “Uh...Breakfast is ready?” and started giggling, “Was I interrupting something?”

We all started looking at each other and I coughed, "No, we were..."
"Talking about something with Panties?" She raised her eyebrows and her eyes trailed to Calum who chuckled, "Heh, um, was it that loud?"
She nodded, "You have no idea."

Lani POV:

We’re in LA now, and of coarse, I was back in the tour bus, editing some pics I took of the guys. Sad part is that I never got a good shot of Luke smiling at me. I mean, yeah, they were smiles but not the same dazed smile. I wonder it’s because what happened when I slept in his bunk. I sighed, “Damn it...” and continued to do some editing.

Later, the guys came in, cheering again on how awesome the concert was.
“Let’s see the pics, Lani!” Calum cheered, and I nodded, moving my laptop to face them.
The guys started to compliment them and actually pointed which solo pic they like of themselves.
“We should post our favorite solo pics on our twitter.” Ashton suggested, and Michael nodded, “Good idea.”
So, once they posted some of the pics, a LOT of fans started to demand more #LaniOriginal
“Oh god,” I sighed as I look at the trending, “#LaniOriginal is trending on twitter right now.”
“Seriously?!” Calum, Ashton, and Michael gasped, and all of them looked at my laptop.
“Wow.” Ashton sighed, “That’s amazing!”

I nodded, “I know. I can’t believe it.”
“You should become our personal photographer, Lani.” Michael smiled at me, and I shrugged, “I don’t know. It sounds a bit much.”

“Why?” Calum asked as he sat next to me, “Is it because your a bit shy about your amazing skills.”

I rolled my eyes, and shrugged, “Whatever. I don’t know about being a photographer. My father says that it doesn’t make much money.”
“Screw what Frank says, Lani.” My uncle ben said as he walked in, “The pictures are awesome.”

“You saw them?” I asked him and he nodded, “Yeah, it’s trending right now.” and takes out his phone.
“Greeeat.” I sighed, but smiled, “People actually like my work. I can’t believe people actually noticed me.”

“See,” Luke said as he grinned at me, “Those pictures are something personal. Maybe that’s why people noticed.”
I looked at him, kind of stunned with the fact he finally smiled at me. I nodded, “Yeah, you have a point.”
Then Luke smile faded when he saw Calum who raised his eyebrows at him, “Hey Luke, I think we should eat out tonight.”

Luke nodded, “Why not? Where do you guys wanna go?”
“I’m craving for some Wing Stop right now.” My uncle groaned, taking a sip of his water, and I groaned also, “Ugh, that sounds so good right now. I haven’t had Wing Stop in forever.”

“It’s settled!” Ashton clapped his hands together, “Wing Stop it is!!”
Then something unfortunate happened. Calum got up really fast, causing my uncle to drop his water all over me and Calum. “Holy shit.” Uncle Ben gasped, and Calum started laughing, “Uh...sorry?”
“UGH.” I groaned, wiping my top, “Now I need to change my shirt.”
“Wait,” Luke said, as he grabbed something from his bunk, “Take this.” He threw his plaid flannel at me, and smiled, “I think that would look cute with what your wearing.”

I was just wearing my usual black top and jeans, and Luke was right about the flannel, it did look cute with what I’m wearing.
“Awwww,” Michael cheered, “Luke is such a gentlemen.”
Luke started rolling his eyes, “Whatever. Let’s go eat!”

We actually took a walk since the place where the guys performed at had a little shopping center near by, and Yelp said there was a Wing Stop there too. When were walking, I was just minding my business till Luke came up next to me, and said, “Nice shots today.”
I smiled at him, “Thanks. It was fun watching you guys perform.”
“I like my solo shots.”
“Of coarse you do.”
“What?” He chuckled, “I like them.”
“Which one is your favorite so far?”

“Here,” he showed me his twitter on his phone, “Go look what I posted on my twitter as my favorite picture of me.”

When I look at which picture he posted, it was the first ever picture I took of Luke which was the dazed smile he flashed at me.
“I like this one too.” I smiled at him and gave his phone back, “Can I ask you something?”
“Shoot.”

“Why were you acting so weird around me today?”
He was quiet for a little while till he said, “I’m really sorry..”

“Is it about what happened in the bunk because that was only one time. It’s never going to happen again.”

He shook his head, “It’s not just that. Let me put it this way,” he looked at me, “I want to get to know you, Malulani.”

“Why?” I looked at him, “There’s nothing significant about me.”
He shrugged, “I’ll decide if you are or not, but I just wanna get to know you.”

I sighed, looking away, “I’m going to warn you, once you get to know me in a certain level, your going to leave me.”

Luke chuckled, “I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Then I remembered what he said about us not working out. My heart dropped when I overheard that, and started to feel like I have no chance of being with Luke. I sighed, “That’s what they all say at first.”

“That’s because it’s true.” He elbowed me, “You just gotta have faith on somethings.”

Geeze, Luke has been hanging out with my uncle so much that he’s starting to talk like him. “And I’m guessing your one of them?”

“Exactly.” Luke smiled really wide at me, and nudged me one more time.
I couldn’t help but to smile and nod, “Fine. But I will warn you one more time, my life is kind of crazy in a way. In a very complicated way.”
Luke sighed, “Oh come on,” and grinned, “I bet it’s not that bad.”
I shrugged, “Well, it’s definitely something crazy.”

“I like crazy.” He smiled at me, and out of nowhere, I blurted out as joke combeback, “I like you.”

“What?” Luke chuckled, and I covered my mouth, “Uhh...” I let out, slapped my forehead and walked faster, “You know what I meant!! It's just a joke!!”
“Lani!!” Calum called out, “SLOW DOWN!”
“LET’S RACE!” I yelled and I heard the guys groaning, “NOT AGAIN!!!” and my uncle yelling, “YOU BETTER BE CAREFUL, YOU KLUTZ.”
