Chapter 32: Eighteen

After Prom, School has been normal. Ian finally left me alone, and Luke and I better than ever.

"Can it just be summer vacation already?" Natalie groaned, and I nodded, "I know. I just wanna get out of this hell hole."

"And we still have another year left! GOD. School sucks."

"Tell me about it."

"If you say so.." Natalie smiled and I rolled my eyes, "Not literally."

We were in my kitchen, doing some homework while dreading on the fact summer vacation is taking forever to come. School is almost over, but the days are passing by too slow.

"Planning on doing anything this summer?" Natalie asked me as she was doing some math problems.

I shrugged, "I don't know. I need to find a job, that's for sure and save up some money."

"Ugh, I know. How about your birthday? I mean, I know you hate it and all but, what do you wanna do for you birthday?"

I shook my head, "Nothing at all. I just want to relax and stay at home, but if I do want to do something, I'll probably want to go to Japan town."

She nodded, "That's cool."

I mean, I don't really have much planned this summer. I really want to find a job so I can save some money for some new photography equipment, and probably a new car if I get lucky.

"You should buy a Jeep." Luke chuckled when I told him about me getting a job, "That would be hot."
"Oh shut up, I don't want guys honking at me." I laughed at his comment, "Besides, I did say if I get lucky."

"If you don't get a car, then buy a plane ticket."

"With a shiny diamond ring with your name on it."

Luke rolled his eyes, laughing, "I see what you did there."

"Maybe I'll do that. Take a trip to Australia to meet my favorite Australians in the whole entire world."

"How sweet of you." Luke smiled at me, and I shrugged, "Anything to see you again."

I really want to see Luke and the guys again though. Maybe that could be my birthday present.

{ Few Months Later }

Soundly sleeping. It was a nice cozy sleep on a warm summer morning. And I did say it was.

Out of nowhere, I heard a huge explosion in my room, and people yelling, "SURPRISE!!"

I shot up with a heart attack, and I see my dad, Rachel, Leo, his new girlfriend, Annie, my mom, and surprisingly, Uncle Ben. Natalie is at a family vacation right now so that's why I'm surprised she's not here.

"HOLY CRAP." I gasped, "WHAT IS GOING ON?!"

"We're making your birthday HAPPY for once." My mom smiled at me, and popped streamers in the air, yelling, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!"

Then my mom brought in a cake, singing the birthday song.

When the cake was place on my lap, it was this camera shaped cake that says "Happy 18th Birthday, Lani!" on the lens.

"Happy birthday, Malulaaaaaniiiii." Everyone sang, "Happy birthday to you!!!"

"MAKE A WISH!" My uncle Ben cheered, and I closed my eyes, thinking, "What do I wish for?"

I finally thought of a wish, and blew out the candles with the people around me cheering for me.

"I'm surprised to see you here, Uncle." I smiled at my Uncle Ben as I was eating my cake in the kitchen, "Shouldn't you be at your LA pent house, chillaxing?"
