Chapter 10: Friend Zone

"Lani, what's gotten into you?" Calum said as he gave me a tissue.
"You know," I blew my nose, "When someone sneezes, it's polite to say 'Bless you'."
"Bless you." Ashton and Luke said in unison and I smiled, "Thank you."
"You just had to lock the bus and I had to wait for you guys OUTSIDE IN THE COLD."
Uncle Ben chuckled, "Sorry, Lani."
"I hope that game was worth it." I groaned, and Luke patted my head, "You're cuddling with the prize. So, it was worth it."
I pouted and held the stuff penguin even more.

So, here's what happened.

During our time of heading to the next city, we took a pit stop at this carnival. Towards the night, it was getting cold and I wasn't feeling well so I wanted to take a nap. I told my Uncle and the guys that I wanted to leave but they wanted to play one more game so I left early. When I finally made it to the bus, the door was freaking locked so I had to wait in the freaking cold and I was wearing my usual t-shirt and jeans. The guys took FOREVER and I called my uncle multiple times since I didn't have 5sos's number. After waiting for what felt like a million years, my uncle and the guys finally came back with a stuff penguin. They were laughing and playing around till Luke saw me, gave the penguin to my uncle, and ran towards me.
"LANI! It's cold out here!" Luke said as he took off his jacket and wrapped it around me, "Why aren't you inside?"
"It's-" I sneezed, "It's lock. I couldn't get in." Being outside for too long got me sick with a cold.
"Are you okay?" Luke as he helped me up and I shook my head, "No..." I sighed and I felt really dizzy. My head was throbbing like crazy, and my body felt really weak. My legs gave up and I fell on Luke.
"Jesus." He scoffed as put his arms around me to help me balance myself.
"Is Lani okay?" My uncle came up to us, and Luke told him that I'm sick and I should get inside. When Uncle Ben unlocked the door, Luke carried me inside bridal style and laid me down on the couch.

Yeah, that happened and I'm lying on the coach, sick as fuuu thanks to Uncle Ben.

"I told you I'm sooooorry!!" Uncle Ben whined to me and I shook my head, sniffling, "I called you so many times!"
"I know I know," He kneeled down, "I'm sowwy."
"Till I am I better, I will not accept your apology." I crossed my arms and look away from him.
I heard him chuckle and he kissed my head, "Stop being adorable."
"Stop saying stupid things!" I yelled at him as he walking to the driver seat to continue our trip.
I sneezed again, and I sighed, "I hate being sick." and blew my nose.
"You sound so cute, Lani." Calum smiled at me and I glared, "No, I sound terrible."
"I don't know," Ashton grinned and put his arm around Luke, "I think you sound pretty cute. Don't you think also, Lukey?"
Luke shook his head, "Guys, poor Malulani is sick. I don't think it's a good time to mess with her right now."
"Yeah," Michael said as he got up from his seat, "That's Luke's job!"
I rolled my eyes, and sneezed again. The guys said, "Bless you." in unison and I replied, "Thank you."
"Geeze, don't you guys have manners?!" Michael took Ashton and Calum, "Can't you see they want to be left alone?! I got you, Luke. I know it's killing you." and winked at me, "Feel better, love!"

When we were left alone, I started cuddling with the Penguin, "Did you win this?"
Luke grinned and sat in front of me, "Yeah, I did. Sorry it took so long."
I buried my face on the penguin, "It's okay. It's really soft."
"I bet." He smiled at me, and rubbed the back of his neck, looking down, resting his elbows on his knees.
"Are you okay?" I asked him, placing the penguin on my lap.
He shook his head, "It's nothing. I just feel bad."
"Why do you feel bad?"
He shrugged, "I feel like I'm the reason why you're sick."
I rolled my eyes at him, and put the penguin beside me, "Now why do you feel that way?"
"Because.." He looked at me, "It took me forever to win that penguin. I wanted to win that game so I could get it and it was my fault that you had to wait."
"Okay," I crossed my arms, "That is true."
"SEE!" He groaned put his head down on the table. I started giggling, "Hey," I try to reach to him, but he scooted away, "Nooo. I feel bad. My friend is sick because of me."
Yeah, major friend-zone at it's finest.
"Luuuuuke." I cried, but he shook his head, "Hemmings, come on!" I pouted, "If you don't talk to me, I will sneeze on you."
"Now, that" He sat up and pointed at me, "is disgusting."
I started laughing, "Then talk to me! Gosh," I took the penguin again, and gave to him, "Here, I shouldn't be hogging it since I'm sick."
Luke got up and sat next to me, "Actually, this is yours."
"What?" I looked at him in shock. He nodded, "Yeah, I really wanted it to give it to you. Since you said you weren't feeling well earlier," he took the penguin, "I thought this would make you feel better. Buuuut," He chuckled, "My plan kind of back fired."
I started laughing with him, "Yeah, it kind of did." I put my hand on his knee, "But thank you. Really, the Penguin was worth getting me sick."
"Seeing you cuddling it makes even better." He flashed a big smile at the penguin.
"What did you say, Hemmings?" I smiled at him, nudging him. Luke started blushing and scoffed, "You heard me."
"Uh-huh," I nodded, "You don't wanna say it again?"
"No." He looked away, and I sighed, "Fine," and I started coughing even more, "Oh, this cold," cough cough, "I'm so sick, Luke." I rested my head on his shoulder, "Luuuuuke, I'm siiiiick."
He started laughing and put his arm around my shoulder, "So you're gonna get me sick?"
"Noo," I took the Penguin, "I wanted this back. Now, move!" I pushed him away, and I covered my face with the Penguin, "I really don't want you to get sick because of me."
I heard Luke laughing, "You really are weird, Malulani." and then I felt him hovering over me, and he kissed my head, "You should get some sleep, yeah?" He patted my head, and I nodded, "Yeah, I should."
"Cool. Have a nice sleep, Malulani." He said and walked away, then stop, "You should use this." Luke took out a pillow and blanket from his bunk, and threw them at me, covering my head. I took them off, and I glared at Luke who was giggling, "Night, sneezy." I stick out my tongue at him before he walked away.

I laid down, cuddling the penguin and sneezed again. When I sniffled, I took a breathe, and geeze, everything smells like Luke. I closed my eyes, and I just imagine hime beside me like that one night. Friend zone. It sucks.

Eh, It's super short for my taste. I don't know how I feel about this chapter. It kind of sucks. Oh wells~
