Chapter 17: Confusion

I put on jeans, black T-shirt, and a burgundy cardigan to hide the new scars. When I walked out, I see the guys laughing, sitting on the coach.

"Woah, what did I miss out?" I laughed as I drying my wet hair with a towel.

"Nothing important." Luke said as he looked at me. His grinned all of the sudden faded, and he asked, "Are you okay?"

"Huh?" I said as I sat down, "What do you mean?"

The guys had serious looks on their faces as Luke said, "You're eyes, they're all puffy again. Were you crying?"

I shook my head, "No, of coarse not..." I bite my lip and the guys were quiet. Obviously not believing me, I just sighed, "Okay, yes. I was."

"Why? What happened?" Luke said.

"Have you seen some of the tweets about me that your fans made?"

"No," Luke said, and he took a look. He was busy scrolling, and said, "Lani, there's nothing in here.." his voice trailed off. Luke looked closer at it, and scowled, "WHAT THE HELL." He went up to me, and sat next to me, "Lani, do you know these girls?"

I nodded, "Yeah, they're from my school.."
Ashton took a look and asked, "What do they mean by bringing weapons?"

I sighed, "There was incident at school..."

"Lani," I heard Uncle Ben hollered, "Are you sure you want to talk about it?"

I nodded, "It haves to be now or never, Uncle."

"Listen carefully, guys." I said as they sat with me, and I explained what happened at school.

"You were accused of bringing a weapon to school?!" Calum gasped, and I nodded, "I was an easy target back home. Everyone knew that no one would believe me if I defend myself, and those girls wanted me out because apparently, I was ruining one of the girls chances of being with my ex. I mean, yeah, I'm hurt but I wasn't guilting him on purpose."

"Of coarse not," Luke said, "Because that's stupid, and you're not stupid."

I chuckled, "Thanks, Hemmings, but they don't think that. Once I get back home, I would get more crap from them after that tweet you made."

"That's not true," Luke put his arm around me, and I shook my head, "No, it is. You don't know what it's like being the easy target at a high school. Everyone would do anything to make you break."

"Lani, that doesn't mean you should-" Ashton said till I cut him off, "It's a old habit, Ash. It's okay." I gave him along stare and he nodded, understanding I don't want him to bring up my cutting.

"I'm sorry, Malulani." Luke sighed as slumped back, "I didn't think our fans would react this way towards you."

"Not everyone is the same, Hemmings." I put my hand on his shoulder, "It's okay, you didn't know, but now you do, so please be more careful when there's a topic about me with you guys." then I looked all of them, "And I mean, all of you. Not just lover boy over here."

They all nodded, and Michael said, "We promise."

Luke put his arm around me, making me rest my head on his shoulder, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen."

"Oh hemmings," I patted his chest, "It's okay. Just don't ever post something like that without my permission, okay? All of you guys." I pointed at all of them, and I heard Luke said, "We promise." Then he did something comforting, and it was a kiss on the forehead. He rest his cheek on my forehead, and he pulled me closer to him. I closed my eyes, and buried my face into his chest, taking in this wonderful moment.
