Being a family means you are apart of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of you life. No matter what.

I've been waiting for this day ever since my dad agreed to letting us switch schools a few weeks ago. Today was finally my first day at my new school and I couldn't of been more excited.

This morning my dad didn't even need to carry me downstairs because by time he came and told me to get up, I was already dressed and ready.

My mom picked out my outfit and it was cute, but simple. White bodysuit with black ripped jeans, MK sandals and a few accessories with my hair straighten, causing it to flow to the middle of my back. I was happy we got to wear what we wanted, and not a stupid uniform like my last school.

"Do you have everything that you need?" my mom asked placing my backpack in front of me, I nodded.

"Yeah, I think so. Do you have my phone charger?"

"It's already in your backpack, love," she told me as she handed me some money for lunch.

"Can I get dropped off to your job when school lets out?" I asked her. She owns a very popular dance studio in the city and whenever I go with her, we get to dance together and it's really fun. Plus I get special treatment when I go considering my mom owns the place.

"Yes just text me when you're on your way. Now go on, your dad is our front waiting on you. Have a great day I love you," she said hugging me quickly and placing a kiss on my forehead.

"I will, love you too!" I exclaimed before jogging to go meet my dad out front. When I saw an all black 2020 Suburban truck waiting for me with a driver in front, I frowned in confusion.

"Um.. Daddy I thought you were taking us?" I asked as I walked down the steps slowly, he nodded.

"I'm riding with you all to school, yes. Now hop in," he said opening the back door for me.

"We only ride in these if we need protection and we don't? We're just riding to school? Please tell me we're not riding in this everyday?" I rambled before getting in, he shook his head.

"Don't worry, it's not permanent. But this will be your ride to and from school until I figure things out."

"Figure what out?" I questioned but he had already closed my door and was walking around to get in the passenger seat. We drove around the roundabout and picked up MJ and Layla, who both looked confused as well.

I understand my dad being hesitant about us going to public school, but do we seriously need a driver?

When we pulled up to the school, I was surprised by how big it was. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this.

Our truck pulled up right in the front and we were greeted by the eyes of students wondering around before first bell. When I saw my dad get out too I looked at him and rose a brow.

"What are you doing?"

"I need to speak to the office while y'all get your schedules," he answered while heading inside with all of us following behind. I ignored people looking at us as we walked to the front office.

Erika and her mom were up there waiting for us while my dad told the lady our names so she could get our schedules. We all had lunch and gym together because our parents requested it so I was happy about that.

"What is he saying to her?" MJ asked motioning to my dad hissing something at the office lady. I shrugged.

"I don't know. Have y'all dads been acting weird lately?
