I'm sorry.
"We're not going to the movies anymore because my family is having a cookout," I told Carmen who was laying in my bed watching TV on the large flatscreen. Me, her, and Layla all slept in my bed last night since it was big enough to fit us all and then some.
I had just come back from talking to my parents downstairs where they told me about the cookout. They were inviting a lot of people to come over, get in the pool and eat while we shook fireworks.
"Do you have a bathing suit I can borrow?" she asked sitting up more, I nodded and pointed to my bottom dresser drawer.
"They're all in there, knock yourself out," I replied plopping down in one of my bean bags as I pulled my phone out to see if Isaiah text me back.
After getting back home from the party last night we talked all night long, and today we've been texting ever since we woke up.
I'm a little surprised at how much I think I actually like him. I mean.. he did steal my first kiss last night, which was pretty great. We didn't do anything crazy, after he kissed me we just laid around and continued talking before it was time to go. He kissed me goodbye too, of course.
"How well do you know Aiden?" I asked Carmen, speaking of Isaiah's cousin. She's been at the school longer than I have so she should know him better than I do.
"I mean, we've had a few classes together with occasional conversations, but I wouldn't call us friends. What makes you ask?"
"I don't know.. Isaiah told me they got in an argument last night. Like a really big argument and he ended up having to stay at Lee's house."
"He lives with Aiden?" she asked and I nodded.
Last night after Isaiah got home I guess him and Aiden began arguing about something, which made Isaiah's Uncle argue with him too resulting in them not letting him stay there for the night. He told me what happened but he wouldn't tell me the cause of their argument.
Isaiah- Meet me today? Want to see you.
Meet you where?
Isaiah- Ice cream shop down the road from the mall
"He just asked me if I could meet him," I informed her as I typed a response.
"Meet him where? And what time?"
"That ice cream place down from the school, and I don't know let me ask."
Time?
Isaiah- Around 2? You can bring Carmen & Layla
"How are we going to get there?"
"I doubt my Dad would let me drive one of his cars.." I mumbled before looking up. "I can ask MJ?"
"I'm down for some ice cream. Call him and ask him, I'll wake Layla up," she told me before tapping Layla. I pulled out my phone and clicked on MJ's contact so I could call him. It rang three times before he answered sounding out of breath.
"Hello?"
"Hey.. Wait are you busy?"
"No, not anymore, I just finished working out with my Dad. Why what's up?" he asked me and I told him.
"Do you feel like taking us to get ice cream within the next hour or so? Pretty please?"
"Who are you trying to meet?" he surprised me by asking.
