---Chapter Thirty-One; Revelation---"Hey boss, where's Haruka?" Hikaru leaned his arm on Karous shoulder, his facial expression mixed with boredom and concern. I licked my lips slowly, glancing at my watch. She's 10 minutes late, that's not like her. I was starting to get worried. Where the heck is she?
"Did you try calling her?" Haruhi asked worriedly. I nodded in agreement. I called her three times, no response each time. I drew my eyebrows together, letting my teeth tug at my lower lip. I was getting more worried by every minute, every second that passed by.
Was it my fault? Is she still not over last night?
I sighed, I wasn't trying to make her feel bad, in all honesty. I just wanted. .I needed to tell her. It was eating me out slowly, consuming me day by night. Every time I saw her. .all I could think of was holding her in my arms, claiming her as mine. So, I thought if I told her. .it would all be over sort of. I thought maybe then I'd finally get her out of my head, I would get over her.
But I don't know. . .love doesn't work like that. .
"Do you think she forgot?" Honey asked curiously and I shook my head. "That's not like her either, besides, this competition is important to her." I informed as I watched others enter the building. Everytime I saw it wasn't Haruka I grew more anxious and anxious. "This is honestly out of character for her." Kyoya muttered.
I scattered my gaze around the room to try and occupy my time, I even started pacing back and forth around the room, the others watching me in a concerned manner. Haruka hurry up. Where are you?
She would've texted me, called me, or something by now. I can't help but feel like something. . .bad has happened to her. .I ignored the anticipating sweat on my forehead, thinking deep and hard on where she could be.
I heard the door swing open and I looked up, meeting eye contact with Shido. I was about to say something but his appearance took me by surprise. His short chestnut hair was messy as always, except now it looked like he just got out of bed. His clothes were a mess, it didn't even look like they had been ironed, and his expression seemed to indicate that he was stressed out. .or scared.
"S-S-Shido? What's wrong? Are you okay?" I asked as he grabbed my shoulder tightly, short gasps escaping his mouth. He looks like he just ran a marathon, sweat was glistening itself off his brown skin. "Come on! All of you! Now! Get in my car we're heading to the hospital!" he announced harshly, his chest heaving up and down.
I scrunched my face up. "Hospital?" I said. "Why do you want us to go to the hospital?" Haruhi asked seriously. "It's about Harukas condition! Now come on, let's go! I'll explain more in the car!" when the word 'Haruka' left him I suddenly gripped his arm. "What do you mean? Condition?" nothing he said was coming together or made since.
Shido widened his eyes. "You mean. . .she didn't. . .tell you guys?"
Karou sighed loudly. "No, she didn't. She's never said anything about a condition." an inch of anxiety was lingering in his voice. "And what condition are you talking about?" Karou folded his arms.
Shido bit his lip, his eyes wavering away.
"Shido, tell us." I muttered.
Haruka. . .
"Haruka. . . ." he took a deep breath.
"Haruka has cancer."
