Chapter 3

We had made it to an Italian restaurant called Bella Giorgia and apparently one of her friend worker here. I also found out that this was the first place that she had worked at during high school. There were a lot that I learned about her, how she loved the movie Avatar and why she was still undecided about whether she liked the Twilight series or not. I also learned that she came from a semi-large family. Her mother was the one with the big family, she had come from a family of 11, but Karmia had 4 other siblings. She told me about her collage life and what she had studied.  She had majored in English literature and that’s when I connected the dots of why she worked for the New York Times. The most interesting thing that I learned about her was that she like all vegetable’s except carrots. She was telling me that when she was in middle school someone had brought rotten carrots for her to blind taste and the rest she couldn’t even finish. I couldn’t help but to laugh at how funny that was.

“Hey! Don’t laugh at me it’s serious” she said as she smacked my arm.

“No, I’m not laughing at you, but with you” I tried to say in between my fit of laughter.

“Well, do I look like I’m laughing?” she said with a pout.

“No, you’re not”. I tried to calm myself and eventually succeeded “I’m sorry that I laughed at you”

“Thanks for apologizing” she replied back and went back to eating her food. I watched how she ate and I couldn’t help but to study every groove of her face. She had such beautiful, silky, chocolate skin that I couldn’t help but want to touch. The way her face was set made me believe that God had truly taken his time to sculpt a beautiful creature like her. She had shoulder length hair and it was a beautiful jet black color. As I was scrutinizing her, she looked up from her food

“What?” she asked with her mouth full. I chuckled at her face. In return, she gave me an embarrassed face. After finishing the food in her mouth she asked her questions again “Why are you staring at me?”

Looking at her eyes that where surprisingly a very bright brown color; the contrast her eyes had to her skin color added more beauty to her already beautiful self.

“I was just observing” I answered back

“Observing what?” she raised an eyebrow.

“Observing just how beautiful you are”

It was fun watching her smile the way she had; it was a slightly embarrassed but yet flattered look.

“Thank you” she said looking at me. We were there looking at each other and the electricity flew between us. I couldn’t figure out what it was that I wanted at that point, but from the electricity I was feeling, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to know what it was. Trying to lighten the thicken atmosphere. I thought of something to say.

“So, do you have a boyfriend?” I asked her and she laughed at me

“What is so funny?” I asked her; curious to know what she was thinking
