Everybody gathered around the double table, ready for the barbecue. The kids even got their own little table to eat from. Chris was standing at the barbecue, thinking about God knows what, Scott sat next to me, his two sisters in front of us while their boyfriends/husbands sat next to them. Lisa was seated at the top of the table, we were currently all talking about Chris' last movie.

"So you were the writer of the story? And that's how you met Chris?" Lisa asked me, I nodded at her.

"Yeah I just moved to America and my English wasn't the best back then, Chris and Sebastian helped me with everything," I smiled, thinking back.

"What do you mean with helping? Helping you settle down or?" Shanna asked me, I shook my head.

"No, they helped me by talking with me, I was kind of shy? I don't know if that's the right word for it, but I was kind of embarrassed of my english which is why I didn't talk a lot back then, Chris talked the whole time to me, making me feel a little more relaxed," I explained to them, they understood I think, they didn't ask any further but changed the subject.

"You said you moved to America, where are you actually from?" Carly asked me as she drank from her cocktail, I smiled.

"I'm from Belgium, Antwerp to be exact," I told them, thinking about my life back then.

"I thought you were from England with your accent," Lisa told me as she smiled to me.

"No, no, we had to learn British English in high school so that's probably why," I told them, happy that I found a new family who accepted me for who I was.

"How long have you and Chris been together?" Lisa suddenly asked, now aware of the fact that I haven't lived in America for too long.

"A few weeks now, we are together since the day before he came here," I explained to her, her expression suddenly changed into a more disappointed one.

"Oh, that's not too long," she commented, I faintly smiled to her.

"I know, that's why I was really surprised Scott asked me to come here," I explained, she only nodded, the silence was kind of awkward now until Scott started to ask me questions.

"Is Belgium different from America? I know they are very known for their beers and their chocolate," he said to me. I smiled, relieved the tension was less awkward now.

"Belgium is so much smaller, I mean, Belgium is probably as big as New York City is. It only took you about 2 and a half hours to drive to the other side of the country," I told them, "And yes, Belgium is known for it's beers and it's chocolate, but also for it's waffles," I told them.

"Never saw a booth with 'Belgian waffles'?" I asked them, they all thought about it for a second and then nodded their head.

"But why did you move to America?" Carly asked, now joining the conversation again.

"I actually was a college student in Antwerp, I liked to write stories and place them online for people to read whenever I was free. I guess that's how Marvel found me, they read one of my stories and asked me to write one for them, one that they would make into the new Avengers movie and me being a huge fan of Marvel immediately agreed and well, here we are now," I explained to them.

"Don't you miss your family?" Lisa asked me, I nodded sadly.

"I do, a lot actually. I don't hear them too often with the difference in time. My mum and me were never the best of friends but I do miss her a lot, I even miss my grandmother a lot," I explained, the tears in my eyes. Lisa noticed that and quickly walked over to me and placed her arm around me.

"You'll get to see them soon enough, maybe you can make a trip back home?" Lisa asked me, I nodded my head at her.

"I know I'm probably too young to date him, but I can't help it, he started to mean so much to me in such a short time, I- I really like him Lisa, I would never hurt him, I probably wouldn't even be able to," I told her as I looked to Chris, who was completely concentrated on the meat.

"Don't worry about it, I trust you," she ensured me, "I saw Chris without you these few weeks, I know how happy he is now that you're here," she told me, I smiled to her and she smiled back, we both looked back to Chris.

"You're part of our family now Tilly, we have another sister in the family," Scott told the two girls who had now started a conversation on their own with their 'dates'. The two women smiled to me as they looked over to me. Chris walked up to us, carrying two plates to the table. Lisa walked back to her own seat so Chris could sit next to me again, he kissed me quickly on the cheek before he started to place some of the meat on his plate.
