Finn's POV
Gaten had already joined Sadie and Caleb in the hot tub, so it was just Millie and I, going down the slide one last time.
"Okay, this is our fifth time, you can go alone this time!" Millie says, laughing.
I immediately begin to panic, I can't go alone! Also, I enjoy going on the slide with her, it gives me an excuse to wrap my arms around her waist, and press my cheek in her hair, and-
My thoughts are cut off by Millie, "Finn, are you alright?" She asks concerned.
"Uh, yeah. Just scared to go down alone," I reply, this causes Millie to give me a small smile.
"Sit on the slide, Finn," she demands. I sit down and hold onto the pole above me, not ready to go.
My stomach churns, I don't want to.
I don't know how long I've been sitting here, but it must've been pretty long because I feel a hand on my back, pushing me forward.
"YOU CAN DO IT WOLFHARD!" Millie shouts as I go down the slide, screaming. I can hear everyone laughing. This isn't funny! Oh no the leap is coming... AHHHHH splash.
Wow, that was actually kind of fun...
Millie lands in the pool behind me.
"See, it wasn't so bad?" She says, water dripping from her short hair. I laugh.
"I guess not," I was about to say something else, but I get distracted as I watch Millie get out of the pool, dripping wet and, well gorgeous. Has she always looked like that?
I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I hear somebody whistle loudly, I look over and it's a guy from school pointing at Millie.
"Mmmh," the boy moans,"is that you Millie? Damn."
My blood boils. Yes, she's gorgeous, but that is so objectifying, and just disrespectful. This is the 21st century people!
"The fuck did you just say!?" I yell at him.
"Get away from her, you pig!" Sadie screams.
Millie's face is a combination of 'fuck you' and 'I'm about to cry.' Caleb and Gaten get out of the hot tub and march towards him while l get out of the pool.
The guy, I think he's in my fifth period, starts backing away. His eyes widen and he bolts in the other direction.
"YEAH YOU BETTER RUN!" Gaten yells.
I look over to Millie, who's sitting at the edge of the pool, eyebrows furrowed in anger and eyes welling up with tears.
"Do you know that guy?" I ask, sitting next to her.
"Romeo," she replies, "I used to have a crush on him in middle school, until..." Millie trails off.
"Until what?"
"Until I found out exactly all the many reasons why I shouldn't even bother with someone like him," Millie replies, voice shaking with anger.
That answer was really vague, but I decided not to push her.
I touch her shoulder, to try and comfort her. I feel her tense up under my hand, but then slowly calm down.
"Come on," I say gently, "let's get in the hot tub."
She smiles and nods yes in reply.

"I love the bubbles!" Gaten says, all giddy. His curly hair sticking to the sides of his cheeks.
This makes Millie laugh, "Me too!" She adds.
"Shh, guys we're trying to relax," Caleb say, resting his head on the concrete. He's laying particular close to Sadie.
"Okay, okay," Gaten says, putting his hands in his hair, and doing the same as Caleb.

Soon we're all just closing our eyes, resting in the hot tub. I check the gigantic clock in the corner, about a quarter to 7. I close my eyes.

I must've fallen asleep, because when I wake up, it's 7:02 and I'm literally on top of Millie. I see her eyes looking down at mine.
I quickly get off of her an apologize.
"Sorry, I-I fell asleep and I must've fallen o-on top of you, uh, sorry," I stutter.
FACEPALM
"It's alright Finn," she says soothingly, in a way that sends shivers down my spine. And all of the sudden, I feel the urge to kiss her... and I kind of want to see what's under her bathing suit- NO FINN NO OH GOD SHUT UP OMG IM SUCH A PERVERT! ABORT MISSION ABORT MISSION!
"I'm kind of hot, I'm going to chill in the colder pool," I say, scrambling to get out and accidentally splashing Sadie in the face.
She flinches, "Fuck off Finn," she giggles, getting out of the pool and following me. I leap into the pool, curling into a ball as the cold water rushes around me... so cold! While I'm still under water, I feel something splash next to me.
It's Millie and Sadie.

It's nearly 7:30 Millie, Sadie, and I have been playing water games with each other.
During a game of water polo, Sadie drags me aside, while Millie is still trying to find us, eyes shut.
Millie's POV
"Marco!" I shout.
There's no reply from Sadie or Finn.
"Guys! Marco!" I shout again, a bit annoyed.
No reply. I open my eyes and look around, and there I see, Sadie Sink and Finn Wolfhard completely flirting in the pool. Sadie's hand is on his chest, and Finn's cheeks are bright red.
I really thought Finn and I had something starting, but obviously not. I feel hot tears begin to sting my eyes, so I go underwater so nobody notices. They camouflage with the rest of the water droplets on my face.
Finn inches closer to Sadie in the pool, and whispers in her ear. I can't take this. I have to leave.
Finn's POV
Millie shouts, "I better get going, if I get home to late my mum will get mad at me."
This distracts me from the very hot Sadie in front of me for a second.
"See you at school Millie!" I shout and wave. She nods her head and packs up her things, and leaves.
That's strange, it's only 7:40.
