It had been 8 months since Derek was sitting in the hospital, for only a few days but what seemed like months.
At this very moment, they were all together.
Everyone was happy.
It was the day of the youngest child's graduation.
Duncan Charles Moyer was finally graduating high school.
His mother had to fight tears as she watched him walk the stage, meanwhile his father stayed shocked on how he managed to pass all of his classes.
The Moyer's made sure that all of their children graduated high school.
Sure, Donnie didn't even show up for his own graduation but he still got his diploma.
The whole family was proud of him, but his father was more concerned on if he was going to college.
Duncan had already got into CSUN, which was alright. The only problem was that Chelsea got into Stanford.
In case you didn't realize, its a five hour drive.
But the distance, they thought, wouldn't affect them.
That they could see each other every weekend and still remain as in love as they were before college.
Things would be perfect.
They thought.
What they didn't realize that both of them wanted something different.
Duncan knew he was ready to begin his life after college, but did Chelsea?
The world would soon change for everyone, for the best and unfortunately, the worst.
As Duncan walked off the stage, with diploma in hand, he scanned the crowd for the person that made him the happiest.
And there she was, sitting down in her red and white gown, staring at him with her gorgeous green eyes.
In that moment, as he walked back to his seat, everything was perfect.
It didn't matter whatever the future held for them, everything was exactly how it should be.
Nothing could ever ruin this moment, all of their worries fell away in one look.
For once in Duncan's life, he wasn't worried about what was going to happen.
He was happy, he had the girl, got into a good school, and most importantly, his family.
Everything was perfect.
