Chapter 7

Rayne's pov

I think I changed my outfit at least five times.

I was so nervous.

I haven't actually ever been on a date.

Josie was here helping me get ready.

I finally decided to wear a cute summer floral dress.

Josie did my make-up and curled my hair.

At 6:00 pm on the dot there was a knock on my door.

I opened it to see Kane standing there holding a bouquet of lilies which is my favorite flower.

He was wearing a green dress shirt and jeans.

Let me tell you he made me go weak in the knees he looked that good.

"These are for you. You look beautiful. Are you ready to go?" Kane asked.

I handed Josie my flowers to put in a vase then grabbed my jacket and my purse so we could go.

First, he took me to this nice wine bar that I had wanted to go to for a while but never had the time.

The conversation just flowed between us, and I was no longer nervous.

He was very sweet, and very romantic.

"So, Kane what is a sweet guy like you doing single?"

"Well I was so focused on my career that I didn't get out much. Now that I have my own practice I am ready to find the one and settle down."

My heart skipped a beat at that thought.

I was looking to find the one settle down and start a family.

"I can understand that. How do you like working with children?"

"I love being a pediatrician. I love kids they say the funniest things and seem to really like me."

My heart fluttered.

Kane was just too good to be true.

After the wine bar, he took me to my favorite Mexican restaurant.

He was pulling out all the stops to impress me.

He must have asked Josie about my favorite things.

It made me smile that he went through all this effort.

But what has really won me over is his personality.

He is so easy to talk to, and we had a lot in common.

I didn't want the date to end.

We stayed far longer than we should have at the restaurant.

Reluctantly we left and he drove me home.

We sat in his car and talked some more before he walked me to my door.

"I had a really good time tonight." I said.

"I would love to take you out again."

"I think that can be arranged."

He leaned in and kissed me.

It was the earth shattering make your toes curl kind of kiss.

And I wanted more.
