Chapter 27
Rayne's pov
I was so scared.
Josie was in the ICU she had to have an emergency Hysterectomy.
I don't know what all went wrong but she lost so much blood.
They said the next 24-48 hours will be crucial.
It just became real that my best friend could die.
I snuck a peek at her son.
He's so small.
Lily has woken up and is doing amazing in the ICU.
Kane and I have temporary custody of her until we go to court.
Her worker said she doesn't see anything standing in our way.
I told Kane I wanted to get married right away so it would look better in court.
After I read Lily a story and she was resting I went to check on Bentley.
He was not doing well.
His son was in the NICU and hos wife was in the ICU.
None of us saw this coming.
I walked into the room that Josie was in and couldn't hold back the tears.
She looked so pale.
It hurt that she would never have any more children.
Her and Brantley had plans and wanted a big family now that would never happen.
I felt like a piece of my soul was laying on that bed fighting for her life.
We couldn't lose her.
She was the one that held us all together.
She shouldn't have been here all day.
She should have told us she was in labor sooner.
This was all my fault.
If she died I could never forgive myself.
She had to get through this.
My God son needed his mother.
My daughter needed this amazing woman to have her back.
I needed her.
