Chapter 23

Rayne's pov

Sitting here waiting was going to be the hardest thing I have ever done.

I called Josie and told her everything.

She said she was coming up here even though I told her she didn't need to.

I also was talking to Ally she was Lily's social worker.

While I was waiting I filled out paper work, so we could get everything started.

I needed to feel like I was doing something.

I felt like I was going crazy.

How was I going to sit out here for hours as Lily went through something this dangerous?

What kind of mother did that make me.

I wanted to be in there holding her hand.

It did make me feel a little better that at least Kane was in there with her.

He promised to keep me updated.

I turned around and saw Josie she looked like she was about to have this baby any minute.

"Josie, you should be at home resting."

"No, I should be here for my best friend as she worries about the little girl she will soon call daughter. Also, I totally have to see that ring."

She lifted up my hand and gushed at how beautiful it was.

We both laughed at how well she did at keeping it a secret.

I was so glad she was here.

She was helping me to stay calm.

Ally told me she had to go and check on a few of her other kids, and asked me to call her once I found out anything.

She was really sweet and said she had no worries.

She was sure that Kane and I would get full custody of Lily with no problems.

Her birth parents had already given up their rights, so it was just a matter of them doing a home check and passing all the necessary background checks.

Once I knew that Lily was okay and recovering I would go home and start to make the guest bedroom into a dream room for Lily.

I was so excited.

I was going to be her mom.
