Kayne's pov

I came to see Rayne because I needed her.

Lily my patient was getting worse.

If she didn't get a heart soon she wouldn't make it.

It was as if she was giving up the fight.

Like she felt she had nothing to live for.

I didn't mean to bring my problems to her I just needed to be around her.

Now to hear her ask how she can help.

That she wanted to have Lily in her home.

I was chocked up.

She was perfect for me.

I knew she would have no problem getting custody of Lily.

She was a Vet, owned her own home, and was a great person.

"Rayne, you don't need to do this."

"I know that, but I want this. When can I go see her?"

This beautiful woman was perfect.

I knew Lily would love her because who didn't love Rayne she was just a loving person.

"If you want you can come with me later today when I go and do my rounds."

She jumped up and came over to kiss me.

The fact that she was this excited made me smile.

There was no way I was ever letting this woman go.

"I can't wait to see her."

She truly amazed me.

Maybe that's why I did what I did next.

"Rayne, I love you so much. I want to help you with Lily. Maybe we should get married. That way we know she would come home to us."

Not the most romantic proposal.

I had so much more to say but I was worried I'd scare her off.

She just looked me.

Did I push her too far?

Did I lose her?

"You want to get married so that we both can raise Lily?"

"Well um I love that little girl, and I love you. I would marry you even if she wasn't involved. I am saying this all wrong. Rayne, you are it for me. I think I knew that the moment I met you. I know this may be rushing things a bit, but I need you in my life. Marry me?"

"Kane, I love you and yes I will marry you."

I can't believe she said yes.

I picked her up and swung her around.

I came here feeling down, and now I am so happy.

Rayne is my happiness.
