It was finally Lucas' court date and I was super happy because I have so much faith that he was going to released from prison today.

I dressed in a white plaid shirt and matched it with a black blazer. I then put on black slacks and then black flats.

I grabbed a bottle of water and stated drinking it and I got a phone call so I decided to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Hey sweetie." The phone answered, and my heart warmed at my mother's soothing voice.

"Hi mommy." I smiled.

"Me and your father just want to say good luck for Lucas' court case and sadly we aren't able to make it."

"Thanks mommy. This makes me less nervous, but I have so much faith in him."

"Me too. I prayed for him. Hold on." I heard some shuffling, "Okay, the phone is on speaker, speak to your dad."

"Hi daddy!" I shrieked.

"Hey baby, how you doin'?"

"I'm good, I'm about to head over to the court today."

"I hope everything goes all well. We all want Lucas' home."

"Lord knows I do."

"Alright, call me after and tell me the news."

"Okay. I love you guys."

"Love you too." They both said and then we both hung the phone up.

I made sure I got some snacks since I know how long the process took. I locked up the house and went inside the car and drove over to the court room.

I walked into the building and I greeted the lawyer.

"Hey James." I told him getting a sip of my coffee.

"Hi, how are you?"

"I've had better days but hopefully today is good."

"I have confident that he's going to get release today."

"Hopefully." We walked into the room and he continued walking to the front and took a seat while there was a seat besides him that was for Lucas.

I took a seat in the front row of the public seating area and I sat my clutch on top of my lap as I watch them bring Lucas in the courtroom along with another inmate with him.

My heart started to speed up as he looked over at me and mouthed, "I love you."

I smiled back and mouthed the same thing before both took a seat next to his lawyer.
