"Asia get your sad ass up!" Ella said snatching the covers off of me.
"Can you stop." I rolled my eyes and put the pillows over my head blocking her from talking to me.
Mia went over to the curtains and opened it as the light beamed down on me so I sat up.
"It's been three straight days and you haven't left Lucas' house not once." Ella told me.
"I'm fine." The day me and Lucas' mom talked, I went over to the precinct and they told me that they couldn't reveal any information on Lucas since I wasn't married to him.
"Did you eat anything?" Mia handed me a bag of Wendys, but I didn't take it.
"I'm not hungry."
She went over to me, "Girl. You have to stop. You need to stop being selfish and stressing and worry about your growing child." She said pointing at my belly.
My face softened, "You don't know how I'm feeling right now. So don't say that I am selfish." I stated and I felt my tears at the brim of my eyelids and within seconds, tears were streaming down my face.
"I don't mean to come off rude Asia, I really don't." She said sat on the edge of the bed. "I'm just being honest, I don't want you to stress yourself."
I wiped the tears off my face, "Yeah I understand where you coming from, I'm just tired."
"Asia, here is an envelope that I saw on your doorstep." Ella said handing me it.
"Thanks." I mumbled before ripping open the letter.
Dear Asia,
It's me Lucas' mom and I am currently on my deathbed and I know I'm not going to living longer, and I heard that the police department won't let you see Lucas, so as his mother I contacted them and told them to notify you about his current status.
I love you my daughter in law.
Sincerely, Jamie.
I ended up balling in tears. "Are you okay?" Ella asked.
I nodded my head, "I have to go." I grabbed the letter and went to put on my NIKE slides and went downstairs and got inside my car.
--
I arrived over to the precinct and walked straight to the lady in the booth.
"Can I see Lucas Brown?"
"Are you his sister, husband or mother?"
I handed her the letter and she read over it before allowing me in.
"Thank you." An officer walked me over to a room where I was allowed to take a seat.
In walked a man in a suite and a briefcase and sat besides me, "Good afternoon Asia Thompson." He said handing his hand out to me.
I reached over and shook it, "Good afternoon...?"
"Mrs.Minutillo."
"Good afternoon Mrs.Minutillo."
"So why did you want to meet with me today?"
"Well, I just want to know why police officers barged into his home and nearly assaulted him and wont tell me what's going."
He unlocked his briefcase and grabbed a piece of paper and looked through it. "So apparently, he was caught in a situation with selling drugs which was well over 200 pounds of contraband."
"Are you sure they have the right person? He isn't the type to do things like that."
"It is the right person. The person he was selling drugs with Brandon, ratted him out. Also, one of the people that he sold his drugs to was an undercover cop."
