3 MONTHS LATER...

I was finally 7 months pregnant and lord knows we've came a long way. Last night Lucas got a call from the hospital and that his mother was in complete remission meaning that all of the cancer cells are gone.

The downside is that they had to remove her breasts and she still has some side effects of the radiotherapy is fatigue, skin problem and hair loss. But that was better than to still have cancer.

We both woke up at the crack of dawn to go finally release her from the hospital and bring her home. I could tell Lucas was nervous because usually he would talk a lot especially in the morning, but he was fairly quiet.

A few moments later, he finally came out and we both went downstairs and he went to go take his car. About 15 minutes later of a silent car ride, we finally arrived at the hospital.

We walked hand in hand towards the lobby and we were registered in. A doctor came back in and walked us into the room.

Lucas walked in first and I walked in behind him, and I saw the nurses helping her on the wheelchair.

"I don't need to be in a wheel chair." Jamie said smacking her lips but still sitting down.

"Hey mama." Lucas went over to her and gave her a hug that lasted for a while.

"Hey baby, I missed you so much." She said hugging him back.

He pulled away from the hug, "I just seen you two days ago." He told her laughing.

"Two days too much." She looked over at me, "Is that my beautiful daughter in law Asia?"

I grinned from ears to ears, "It is." I went over to her and gave her a tight hug. "How have you been?"

"It's been good, can't complain. God's on my side for taking away my cancer."

"He really is, I am so happy for you. Are you happy to finally be home?"

"Oh god yes, I'm tired of eating cherry jello and hospital food." Jamie said before shaking her head causing me to laugh.

"Alright, it's time to go." Lucas said going behind her and pushing her out the room while Jamie was saying her goodbyes to the doctors, nurses and other patients.

After finally helping her into the car, I sat in the backseat with her to comfort her while Lucas drove.

"Mama you wanna go get something to eat before we go back home?"

"You ain't got no food at home?"

"We only got some leftovers."

"I would say some fast food, but them doctors told to eat healthy, so I'll eat whatever y'all got home." She said and Lucas nodded his head and continued to past by Mcdonalds.

We finally arrived home, and after helping Jamie out of the car Lucas gave her some of the leftover salads that he made me the night before.

"Ma you gon' stay with us for a while right?"

"Hell no boy, I'm going back to my house by tomorrow."

"Damn, you gon' leave me high and dry like that?"

She smacked her lips, "Child, I'm an adult. I got my own life and I need to be in the comfort of my own home."

He shook his head, "You really doing me dirty."

"Then go take a shower." She said and me and her ended up laughing while Lucas just straight-faced her.

"So you not gonna eat anything?" She asked me since I was just sitting besides her not eating.

"No, I'm not really that hungry right now."

"Well you gonna need to eat for my little baby." She told me rubbing on my belly.

I looked down on my belly as well, "Yeah I know."

It was the next morning and Lucas drove his mother back home and he is just now finally coming back. 

"Hey babe, what you doing?" Lucas asked walking in with two lemonades and he handed me one.

"Thank you." I sipped onto the lemonade, "I'm just making sure everything goes okay for the gender reveal party."
