Charlie's POV:
It takes a while before Leo comes back into the living room, maybe he went to the bathroom or something else. He places the beer he has in his hand on the table while I'm talking to Max and Lucy, old high school friends.
We all fall silent when Leondre sits down next to me on the couch.I wrap my arm around him and give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Happy birthday, babe." I smile, but Leo just pull away my arm. What have I done? We just sit there awkwardly for a while.
"How does it feel to be 18?" Max asks after a while and looks over to Leondre.
"Nothing different." Leo answers shortly. He sounds really rude."Is anything wrong?" I ask slowly and look at him as he reaches for his beer.
"Why do you care?" He asks back rudely and looks at me.
"Because I'm your boyfriend, of course I care of you.""Well, maybe you shouldn't."
I look confused at him. I look over to Max and he just shrugs his shoulders.
"Maybe you should take it slow with that." I say as he takes a big sip of his beer.
"Don't tell me what to do." He replies annoyed, but I don't care. I take the drink out of his hand and place it on the table. "You're not my mum!"Leondre stands up and starts walking out of the room, but I stand up too and grab his arm.
"Leo, what have I done?" I ask, feeling the tears in my eyes. I know it's probably just the alcohol, but it hurts so freaking bad. I hate when he's angry at me. And I hate when I hurt him.
"Just leave me alone!" He yells and pull away my hand. With that he walks out of the living room, leaving me there, standing on the floor like a big fucking question mark.I try so hard to blink away the tears. Suddenly I feel a hand on my shoulder and I slowly turn around. Max pulls me into a hug, but I just stand there, feeling empty.
"He will calm down soon. How many beers has he been drinking?" He says softly.
"I don't know, probably too many. Fuck, why I promise that I would keep an eye on him, but I didn't... I didn't think that it would go this far..." I reply, trying so hard not to cry.
"He's probably just drunk, he doesn't know what he's saying.""Yeah, but it was my job to stop this-" I start, but get interrupted by someone yelling.
Me and Mike pull away from the hug and we both turn around and look out to the hall. Lucy stands up to go and check what's going on. Suddenly she stops just right outside the living room and turn back around to us.
"Guys, I think you should see this..." She says and I can hear a bit worry in her voice.I almost run out to the hall and realize that the music is turned down and everyone is gathered around the entrance to the kitchen, where the yelling comes from. I make my way through to the kitchen. I gasp at what I see.
Mike is lying on the floor, with Leondre sitting upon him, punching him the face. What the hell?! Harvey looks up at me and when our eyes meet, I see that they are full of fear.
I quickly run up to Leo and grabs his arms, but he kicks me on the leg, which causes me to take a few steps backwards. I try again by lifting him off Mike and drag him a few meters away. He's really aggressive and hits me several times.
"Let me go!" He yells while hitting me in the stomach, but I don't let go of him. I don't care about the physical pain, it's the mental one that hurts, knowing that he actually tries to hurt me.Harvey runs up to Mike to check if he's okay, I can see blood running from his nose. Max and Lucy come running into the kitchen.
"What happened?" Lucy asks worried while I'm trying to calm Leo down. Like I've said before, I really hate being around drunk people, especially when they're aggressive. But I can't just leave him alone.
"He got into a fight with Mikey." I answer and gesture against Mike. They both turn around and see the guy lying there on the floor."Maybe you could get a less aggressive boyfriend next time." Mikey snaps and I look over to him. He still lies on the floor in pain, but I wouldn't mind hitting him another time. I just ignore him even though I actually don't want to hold back my anger, but it's best this way. It's always the best.
Lucy turn back around and look up at me.
"Sorry, but I've always thought he was a asshole anyway." She whispers. Sometimes he is, yes, but he's still my friend, or actually old friend. Maybe I should defend him... but I don't care about that now.
"Can you let me go, your stupid idiot?!" Leo slurs angrily."Not until you calm down." I answer strictly.
"You know you're a fucking assho-" He starts, but Lucy quickly puts her hand over his mouth.
"Can't he handle the alcohol or does he actually mean it? Maybe you're an asshole, Charlie?" Mike says and I look up at him again with an annoying look in my eyes. This time he stands up and walk closer to us. Max stands up immediately and at the exact same time, Harvey blocks the way between me and Mike.I don't know when Mikey became such an asshole, but obviously he is now.
"I think it's better you leave now." Harvey says a bit irritated and look seriously at him.
"You think I'm scared of you? Remember when we were little kids and you were playing with dolls and wore dresses? Then you weren't so tough." Mike smirks and some of the other people on the party, that are watching us like it was some sort of theatre, laughs. I don't know if that's the alcohol or actually him, but I know one thing; he's not staying in my apartment any longer.
"Mikey, you're drunk. Get out." Harvey says strictly.
"I'm not drunk." He replies.
"Then you're just a big fucking asshole." Harvey answers and I can hear a few 'oh's, like when you roast someone. Mike's laughing a few seconds before raising his fist up in the air, just about to hit Harvey in the face.
"Guys!" Max yells in all of a sudden and it scares the shit out of me. I look up at see that he now stands between the two guys."What the hell is wrong with you? Now please leave." He continues and looks at Mike.
"Okay, okay. I'll leave, but just because you were asking kindly." Mike answers laughing and walks out of the kitchen. He goes over to the door followed by some girls and some other guys. He opens the door and walks out. Just a few seconds after he slams the door, Harvey opens his mouth again.
"Let's party!" He yells happily, like he has forgot about everything that just happened, before he turns on the loud music again."We should take him into the living room." I say and look back at Max and Lucy. Maxhelps me to hold him as we walk into the other room. We sit down on the couch and the three of us sit around Leo so that he can't get out of there and cause more trouble.
"Leave me alone!" He shouts, but none of us move or let him move.
"Hey, Leo. It's me, Charlie. Recognize me...?" I say calmly, trying to calm him down."C-Charlie...?" He slurs and I can see how his face changes slowly. I can't help but suddenly feel really sorry for him. I mean, he can't control himself, it's the alcohol that controls him. He looks so sad in all of a sudden.
"Yeah, I'm here." I answer calmly, while trying to calm myself down."I-I think I need to-" Leo starts, but it's really hard to hear what he's saying. I can't even hear the rest of the sentence.
"What?" I ask stroking his arm.
"I need to thro-throw up..." He says and before he can even finish the sentence, he starts to get throw up reflexes. I quickly lift him up, since I'm not sure if he can walk on his own, and carry him to the bathroom. I don't want him to throw up in front of everyone. I know how that feels, it's so fucking embarrassing.
