Welcome to the results for our very first Redemption Duel of SmackDown: MadMike's Revenge!

There were three competitors here: parishsp, our first resident, was actually attempting a late entrance into the contest; bloodsword, of the SmackDown-veteran-containing Dudecore tribe, was eliminated in Round 2; and VintageVulpes, of the SmackDown-newbie-containing Hermaphrodeity tribe, was also eliminated in Round 2.

Two would be eliminated completely. One would live to see another duel.

As you might know by now: Win enough duels and you get back into the game, giving yourself another shot at winning SmackDown: MadMike's Revenge and earning the esteemed title of Sole SmackDowner.

Unfortunately, one of those three opted to remove themselves from the game. So it really came down to a traditional two-person duel.

Without further ado, here are the judgements:

Judgement by MadMikeMarsbergen

1. Prompt Adherence - 5/5

Great, seamless use of the prompts. Nothing felt like it was jammed in for the sake of it.

2. Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation - 2/5

Other than the occasional typo and missing hyphen for compound adjectives, the same mistakes were made again and again, namely the use of non-dialogue actions as dialogue tags. It all ended up adding up, unfortunately.

3. Story Enjoyability - 4/5

An exciting world was created here. My only complaint for this, really, was that it ended on a cliffhanger and seemed to be the beginning of something much bigger.

Total score - 11/15

1. Prompt Adherence - 5/5

Excellent use of prompts. It all felt very organic to me.

2. Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation - 3/5

There was a typo here and there, a missing hyphen for compound adjectives, and I did find a duplicate word at the beginning. The main problem, though—and correct me if I'm wrong here—was the repeated use of ", ..." I've never seen this in a published book before, and my instincts tell me it's wrong, as both the comma and ellipsis are used to indicate a pause, with an ellipsis being a longer pause (due to the omission of a word) than a comma, so using both is redundant. Again, if it's correct, feel free to show me an example of this in a published book, and the points in this category will be corrected.

3. Story Enjoyability - 5/5

Very detailed world for a short story, which made me immersed. The humour had me grinning. Nice action, too. And it felt like it was a complete tale when I got to the end.

Due to this entry being a day late, we will subtract a point.

Total score - 12/15

Which means, VintageVulpes and parishsp, you have both been eliminated from SmackDown: MadMike's Revenge. parishsp, it pains me, considering you never really had the opportunity to get in, but you did at least get the chance to submit a couple entries, so that's good, and hopefully you'll be around for the next SmackDown! VintageVulpes, I'm also saddened about your exit, as I found your entries for previous rounds to be quite humourous.

bloodsword, congratulations! You've won the first Redemption Duel and get to stay alive for at least a little longer! Perhaps this is the start of a wonderful underdog story?

For now, all I can say is: Head on back to camp and await your next two opponents.
