-----------------------------Callum POV
It was hard to get sprained on your dominant hand.
This morning I had checked my wound with the school nurse. Connor was the one who brought me there. She said it would take around 2 – 3 days for me to heal since it was only a mild sprained thank's to Connor's first aid. She suggested to not move my wrist too much and I need to compress it with ice again after I've got home.
That's why I barely could take any notes for today's class. It was hurt to even move my hand for writing. Thankfully Alaina and other people who sit beside me didn't mind that I borrowed their notes so I could copy it later.
I was death hungry by the time lunchtime was coming. I hadn't eaten anything since last night. I'd lost my appetite after the incident with Keith and I could barely eat my cereal this morning because Connor suddenly dragged me into his car and drove me to school.
It was the first time we went to school together in High school. I think he was somewhat felt responsible for Keith's violence behavior. I was happy that Connor spared some of his time to taking care of me. If it were any normal day, he wouldn't even bother to spare me a glance.
My stomach was killing me so I was running to the cafeteria like a madman. It was already packed with other students by the time I got there. I didn't see Alaina and the others so I was getting in line first to get food.
I choose roast chicken thighs, mash potatoes, bread, veggies, and apple. I feel my mouth watery. I didn't care if the school's food taste bad. I could eat a horse right now if I had too.
It was kind of hard to hold the lunch plate with one hand. It was quite heavy. While I was struggling not to drop it, suddenly someone took my lunch away from me. I almost growled at them because I thought they wanted to steal my food. But then I noticed it was Mason who helped me brought my lunch to our table. I pursed my lips.
"Is your arm ok?" He asked me while he put my plate on the table. I nodded at him.
"Thanks." I muttered. He smiled and patted my back. He left me for a minute to get in line for his food. I exhaled.
From all of this time, why must he come now? I kind of ignored him yesterday and I think he noticed it. It would feel awkward if it was only the two of us here. Where were Alaina and Dylan when you need them? I frowned. I don't feel hungry anymore.
I was contemplating to leave our table, but before I could do that Mason was already sitting beside me. As usual he choose pasta for his lunch. I focused on eating my food to keep myself busy because I didn't want to talk to him. He seemed to notice that.
"So.. What's happened to your arm?" Mason breaks the ice. He looked at my arm while eating his pasta.
"Sprained it." I answer him shortly.
"Have you checked it to the nursed?" I nodded but not bother to spare a glance at him.
"How long will it take to heal?" I shrugged him off, too lazy to answer him.
"You know, if you need any help just tell me. I will gladly help you all I can." He gave me a sad smile.
"Don't bother. I don't need your help." I told him coldly. He put down his fork and faced me.
"I knew it. You're mad at me, aren't you?" No shit, Sherlock! I scowled.
I didn't answer him back and keep continue eating my food even though I barely could taste anything right now. I know I was acting childish, sulking at him just because I was being neglected. But what do you expect? I feel hurt. So let the man paid the price. I could hear Mason took a deep breath.
