Song for this Chapter: November Lights - Talk

Callum POV

The house party was a blast. I know Dylan went all out to celebrate Alaina's sweet 17th birthday. Beers, alcohol, drugs, you name it he had it all.

I didn't know how Dylan could convince Alaina's parents to let her do this at his house without their supervised. If Alaina's Dad knew about this wild party, he would kill Dylan for sure. No doubt about it.

A lot of people were coming, even kids from the other schools. Alaina seemed very happy about it. She got tons of gifts and had fun with her friends.

I guessed Alaina had change. She used to hate this kind of stuff, just like I did, before she met Dylan. But now it was the opposite. She loves it. I could see it in her eyes. She was overjoyed and beaming with excitement. And not only that, I noticed she had new 'BFF' now.

Since Connor joined the group, she often hangout with the popular kids in school. Those kids became her new circle of friends. The only problem for me was, they were the type of people that I hate the most. The jocks and cheerleader squad, the nasty groups of people who love to make people like me had a miserable life.

I wanted to approach Alaina to congratulate her but they didn't let me get close to her even for a minute. They said I could ruin her 'moment of spotlight' if I were with her. The jerk gave me a task to refill snacks and drinks to keep me busy as they pushed me toward the kitchen. I couldn't believe myself to let them do this to me but I complied in the end because it was for my best friend's sake.

If you were wondering where the hell Liam was, well, he was having fun on his own. No, he wasn't a jerk since I was the one who let him do it.

He met up with his friends, including Clara the girl who dislikes me, and mingled with them. Of course he insisted me to join him but I pushed Liam to his friends because I don't want to ruin their moment. This kind of thing wasn't my thing. I hate it to be honest but I didn't want to be the party pooper so I gave him a space and let him having fun with them.

It had been awhile for Liam to come to this kind of party. Since he was dating me he never hangout with his friends. He even declined any party invitations for my sake. Whenever I told him to go he said he didn't want to had fun on his own so he rejected the offer. He knew I hate to party, clubbing or anything else that similar with that kind of activities so he never pushed me to go with him.

It was very sweet of him but it made me feel bad. I didn't want to restrict him. He deserved to had fun even without me by his side.

I was opening a chips bag when a familiar dirty blond guy stumbled upon the kitchen.

"Eli?" I shoot up my eyebrows, surprise to see him here. Of course Dylan and Alaina would invite him, duh!

"Oh, Hey Callum." He gave me a lopsided smile. "What are you doing back here?"

I showed him the chips bag. "Refill the snacks."

"Oh, okay." He scratched his nose. "I want to get a soda."

"You drink a soda now? Really? Just take it from the fridge." I told him as I poured the chips to a bowl. Eli nodded and made a beeline to the refrigerator to get a can.

"I'm driving." He told me short as he opened the can to take a gulp. "How come you're here alone? Where is your significant other?" His tone was sarcastic.

"Don't worry. He's here, somewhere around with his friends. You didn't bump into him?"

"Nope. And Thank God for that."
