Callum POV
"Since when did the two of you were that close? I never saw you two together before." Alaina was asking me about Liam.
She frowned and crossed her arm on her chest. Her eyes focused on the road in front of her although she wasn't the one who drove the car.
I was now in Dylan's car backseat. Today I went home with Alaina and Dylan since Mason was out of the question.
After the lunchtime incident with Liam this noon, Alaina wouldn't keep her eyes off me. She was bombarding me with questions. She asked me when did Liam started to befriend me, what did he want to show me after lunch, did he do anything weird to me, etc. She hated the ideas that I had any connection with Liam at all. I wonder why?
"Just recently." I answered her. Actually only since yesterday. I try to ignore my inner thought. "Why are you keep asking me about Liam? Did you hate him or something?" I hoped she would stop asking me. I didn't want to slip up anything about the blackmail. She'd be furious at me.
"Yes and No. Yes, because I just don't like that guy. You can tell his face screaming "FUCKBOY!" and No, because I don't actually know him. But I've heard a lot of rumors about him and it wasn't a good one, Cal."
"Really?" I tilted my head. I never heard any rumors about him before.
"You never take interest in any gossip and rumors so no wonder you don't know. I heard he was a player and he love to sleep around a lot! Not only with girls, but boys too and people said virgins was his favorites." Alaina said to me with disgust.
Wow. So my feeling about him being a bad boy and a player hit the nail? And he was a bi too? I thought he was gay. My hunch was right! He was a dangerous guy.
However we couldn't believe 100% on gossip right? I bet not all of them were true. I just need to play safe with him and found his weakness so he could stop blackmailing me. I never thought people would badmouth him this badly. I pity him.
"The way you say it making him sound like he was some kind of a man-whore and sex offender. You sure all of it was true? What if it's false rumors?" I asked Alaina.
"Well, There's no smoke without fire, right? I heard he made tons of girls and boys crying over him. Some girls in my History class knew the victims. And it broke my heart when they told me about their stories." Alaina sighed.
"The worse part is, he love to toying with them. He will make them fall for him and broke their heart in the end. He will mold his toys until it fits his taste and after he got bored, he tossed them aside and find another one. That's why mostly his victim was a naïve Virgin Mary. Poor them." She continued. Alaina then put her head on the car window and took another deep breath. She looked gloomy. Dylan took her hand and stroked it gently to cheer her up.
I couldn't say anything back. I was stunned. If the rumors were true, then there was a high possibility that I was his next victim right? But I couldn't imagine Liam as a person like that.
I know I barely knew him and he was crazy enough for threatening me about Mason. But the way he acted towards me look sincere enough. He pursued me using his own way. Breaking my first defense like some kind of a bulldozer to get what he wanted. I couldn't see him as guy who would toss anyone aside like a trashed after he was done with them.
I didn't say Liam was a good person but I need to see it with own eyes before I could believe in any rumors. Maybe I could found the truth by dating him?
"You know..." Alaina voice broke my thought.
"I was shocked when I saw him at our table today. From all of the other people at school, why he choose to sit next to you?? When he was dragging you away from us, It was scared me to death! I'm afraid that he was targeting you, Cal!" Alaina looked at me from her sit. She gritted her teeth and I could see she was concern about me.
