It was an early Monday morning when Natalia's phone rang. She sighed as she looked up from her laptop and at her phone. She looked at it for a few seconds in confusion, before picking it up.
"Kris? Is everything okay," Natalia said as she answered. Kris never called her.
"I need your help. Can you keep a secret," Kris asked. Natalia felt her heart rate pick up as she thought about what more he might say.
"It depends. Is Jess going to be mad at me," Natalia skeptically asked.
"It's not what you think," Kris quickly said.
"I wasn't thinking anything, but okay," Natalia said as she closed her laptop to focus her full attention on the call.
"I'm proposing to Jess and I-," Kris was cut off by a scream on the other line.
"Woah, Nat, are you okay," Kris asked as he heard more screams.
"You're proposing to my best friend! Oh my god! This is so exciting," Natalia yelled excitedly.
"It hasn't happened yet. I need your help planning it," Kris responded.
Natalia calmed down as she said, "Whatever you need, I'm your girl."
"Perfect, we'll stay in contact then," Kris paused as he said, "And whatever you do, don't tell anyone."
"Your secret is totally safe with me. Do you have any ideas for when or how you want to do it," Natalia curiously asked.
"Not a clue. That's why I really need your help. You've been her best friend since forever. You'd know exactly how to do it."
"Christmas is coming, and so is New Years. We'll all be at your apartment anyways. She'd love that. Being surrounded by all the people she loves," Natalia suggested.
"I like it. It's simple, it's intimate, and most importantly, it's her," Kris said.
"Exactly! If you need anything else, let me know. I'm only one call away," Natalia said.
"Thanks Natty, I knew I chose the right person. We'll stay in contact until then," Kris said as he hung up.
As soon as she put her phone down, Natalia couldn't help but scream, "My best friend is getting married!"

Meeting Kylie in a nearby coffee shop, Natalia greeted her other best friend with a smile."What's got you so smiley? Ooh, did that date with that one guy in your class go well," Kylie guessed.
"He was a douche bag. Never again," scoffed Natalia, "But what's going on with you? I feel like you've been so busy."
"Clinical takes up a lot of time, but at least we get that break next week," Kylie smiled.
"I seriously can't believe Kris is in the MLB," Natalia excitedly said.
"Honestly, I always saw it coming. Kris was always really good at it. I'm just glad he stayed humble and didn't forget about all of us from back home," Kylie responded.
"Have you talked to Adriana," Natalia asked.
"Nope. She's at a photoshoot in California this week. She'll probably fly in with her Mason," Kylie shrugged.

Arriving back at her apartment, Natalia took off her coat and set her purse down. She hadn't gotten much sleep recently because of the particularly grueling semester. All she wanted to do was lay in her bed and sleep, but she still had so much to do before the break next week. And now, with the impending proposal, she had to make sure it was perfect for her best friend. She had known Jessie her whole life and had met Kris when Jessie introduced him as her boyfriend in high school. They had been together for so long and Natalia knew they were going to last. They were the couple in high school, and they still were.
I wish I had something like that, Natalia thought to herself as she opened up her laptop and took a sip of her coffee.

Careful what you wish for Natty! 😉First chapter is up! Obviously, there's no Anthony yet, but there will be really soon! I hope you all stick around for when the story really picks up.
Until next time,
Gabby
