The next morning, Natalia woke up early to meet Kylie before class. It was something they normally tried to do at least once a week to keep up with each other if their schedules got too busy.

Natalia got dressed in her usual outfit for class consisting of leggings and a jacket. It was still winter time, so Chicago was especially cold. If there was one thing Natalia missed about Vegas, it was the winter.

Because Vegas winter, was like Chicago's spring. It wasn't that cold. (a/n I'm not from Chicago, so idk, but I got this from Jess' insta)

Checking the time on her phone, Natalia quickly grabbed her purse and went to the elevator in her building.

Arriving at the coffee shop a short 5 minutes early, Natalia made her way to an empty table.

Kylie soon arrived after, coffees in hand.

"Hey," she smiled at Natalia.

"Hey," Natalia said as she grabbed the coffee from her.

"So Adri told me last night that Mama and Poppa Delp said no to giving their blessing," Kylie said as she stirred her coffee.

"Yeah," Natalia said as she thought back to the moment, "It was honestly really shocking. I didn't think they would."

"Well, at least the Bryant's were chill about it," Kylie said.

"I thought Sue was going to make them get married right then and there. She was that happy," Natalia laughed.

"Sue's always happy," Kylie smiled, "That's why she's my favorite."

Natalia nodded in agreement as she sipped her coffee.

"Adri also mentioned your run in with-"

"Don't say it," Natalia quickly cut in, "We seriously don't have to talk about this. I'm all good."

"The fact that you want to avoid the topic proves that you're not all good, Nat."

"I just don't like-"

"-Talking about it. I know," Kylie finished for her, "but that's why we need to talk about it. It's not good to bottle in all your feelings."

"You sound like my therapist," Natalia said with a roll of her eyes.

"Whom you haven't seen in a while," Kylie retorted.

"Well played," Natalia said as she squinted her eyes at Kylie.

It was true. After the whole thing in Vegas, her father, after Natalia had found him, had paid lots of money for Natalia to attend therapy. She went for years, but eventually stopped once she felt she had gotten over the whole thing. But her friends feared she had only stopped going because she hated it, and not because she felt comfortable.

"You know the deal, Nat. Either you talk to us or you talk to the therapist," Kylie shrugged, "Your choice."

"I'm totally fine," Natalia insisted.

"Okay, so walk me through what happened," Kylie said.

"Fine," Natalia said as she smirked victoriously, "We went to the diner where grandma works and my mother brought him there. He saw me, got too close, and I shoved him off."

Kylie pursed her lips as she listened to Natalia's words. As unfazed as Natalia seemed, Kylie knew better. It Natalia wasn't that Natalia didn't care. It was that Natalia had gotten good at hiding her emotions.

"Fine," Kylie said as she faked a smile for her friend's sake, "Moving on."

She would have to wait until she could talk to the rest of the gang before making a move.
