Natalia was awoken by the sound of her phone ringing. Groaning, she reached for it on her nightstand and quickly answered it.
"Hello," she sleepily asked.
"Hey, get up! I'll be at your place in 20," Jessie excitedly said on the other end.
"Did we have plans," Natalia asked.
"No, but we need to talk," Jessie laughed.
"Fine, but there better be food," Natalia replied.
"That can be arranged. I'll see you soon," Jessie said as she hung up.
Stretching, Natalia made her way into her bathroom to get ready for her day. - - - 30 minutes later, Natalia and Jessie were sitting across from each other at a small cafe down the street from Natalia's apartment.
"So now that in actually awake," Natalia joked, "What did you want to talk about?"
"Kris told me you helped him with the proposal. I just wanted to give you my thanks in person," Jessie smiled.
"There's more though," Natalia said with a raised brow.
Just with Jessie's body language, Natalia knew there was more she wanted to say. Jessie seemed almost nervous.
"There is," Jessie trailed.
Natalia motioned her to continue when Jessie once again stopped talking.
"You know that you, Ky, and Adri are going to be bridesmaids, but I was hoping you'd be my maid of honor."
"Oh my god! Really," Natalia excitedly asked.

"Yeah, I feel like you're the right one. I mean, we've known each other the longest and you're my sister. Blood or not," Jessie explained.
"Of course I'll do it! I'm so excited for this. For both you and Kris," Natalia giggled, "You're perfect for each other."
"Before you get too excited, there's something you should know. Anthony's going to be the best man," Jessie hesitantly said.
"Okay, and?"
Jessie knew about Natalia's feelings for Anthony even though she never said anything. That was just their friendship. They didn't have to tell each other everything because they just knew. So in this case, Jessie knew Natalia was trying to be nonchalant about the whole thing.
"You're not upset? It's okay if you are. I know you liked him for a while," Jessie said.
"That was ancient history," Natalia waved off, "It's fine. All that matters is that I'm going to be the best Maid of Honor ever!"
"Nat, I hate to burst your bubble, but you and Rizz will be pretty close together for the next few months. Between the rehearsals, dinners, and planning, you're going to see a lot of each other," Jessie explained.
