20|Adjustment Drama

The next morning, Natalia woke up with a giant grin on her face. Just thinking of the night before made her heart speed up and her grin to grow.

She decided to just lounge around her apartment for the first part of the day until she had to meet the girls for their appointment at Vera Wang.

It had been two weeks since they had gone for the first time, and Vera had called saying the adjustments were ready and she needed them to try them on for the next round.

Natalia was eating cereal on her couch as she watched tv when her phone rang.

"Natalia, hey," Jessie said as soon as Natalia answered.

"Hey, Jess! How was dinner," Natalia said as she muted her tv.

"I have so much to tell you! But I wanted to know if I could call in my raincheck," Jessie offered.

"Sure! Coffee at the cafe down the street from your place," Natalia asked.

"Yeah, see you in 15," Jessie said as she hung up.

Natalia got up from her couch and put her now empty bowl in the sink to get ready for her day.

Ordering her coffee and Jessie's by heart, Natalia paid and grabbed the coffees.

Jessie was already seated at a table in a private corner at the back of the cafe.

"I believe I was promised gossip about your dinner," Natalia teased as she sat down.

Jessie laughed as she said, "We went to this super fancy restaurant in the city. And can I just say that the wives are not afraid to get down."

"It must be pretty cool to finally be invited to the wives club," Natalia smiled.

"You know I could care less about all the perks that comes with being with Kris, but it is pretty cool," Jessie admitted, "I mean they have shopping days, dinner dates, yacht days. It's all just so cool."

"And to think we were just small town girls when we first got here," Natalia said.

"So, about your picture yesterday," Jessie trailed, "How in the world did you have the guts to go up there? I had a heart attack just looking at the picture."

"I was scared, but Anthony-"

"-Anthony? What was- oh my god! You went with Anthony? You actually called him," Jessie asked while trying to contain her squeals.

"Yes," Natalia giggled, "I took your advice and grew a pair to actually call him."

"Well, what happened? Now you have to tell me," Jessie insisted.

"He took me to the Bean, and we walked around the park. We basically went on a tour of the city," Natalia said.

"You're missing something," Jessie said as she saw the look in Natalia's eyes, "Did something else happen?"

"He kissed me," Natalia confessed.

Jessie's jaw dropped as she stared at her best friend. She just couldn't believe it.

"This is a huge deal, Natty," Jessie smiled.

"It's really not," Natalia shrugged, "I mean it's great, but it was one time."

"Yeah, but you've liked him since last year. Your future bf kissed you," Jessie squealed.

"He's not my 'future bf,' Jess. We haven't even talked since last night," Natalia explained.

"Fine, fine," Jessie said, "but that doesn't make me any less happy for you. To think this wedding is what brought you two together."
