Chapter 13: Instruments

"YN. Wake up. It's morning." 

I felt Shiro slightly shake me. 

"What time is it?" 

I sat up in the bed, noticing Shiro was in his armor already.

"6:55." 

My eyes went wide with shock. 

"Allura's wake up call is in 5 minutes! You didn't wake me up at 6 when you wake up?" 

He chuckled and smiled at me. 

"You looked so peaceful though." 

I looked in his grey eyes, not finding any reason to be mad at him. 

"I'm getting ready."

~timeskip to the dining hall that morning~

"We have a free day. YN, Shiro, are you guys coming to the space mall?" (Yes we're going to that place... shhh let me write, I swear it gets better)

"Can't." Both shiro and I said in unison. 

"Training YN today." 

Keith came by and messed up my hair. 

"Anything you want us to get for you?" 

My eyes lit up, and everyone noticed. 

"A keyboard, if you can. YN really loves music and she expresses herself and her emotions through it." 

"Just any musical instrument, actually. I know how to play the guitar, ukulele, piano, drums, and I can harmonize." 

Everyone looked at me with wide eyes. 

"Who knew YN was so musical?" 

"I did." Pidge piped up. 

"She taught me how to play the guitar and piano." 

She looked down and her face started turning red from embarrassment. 

"And how to harmonize as well when I was younger. But I haven't sang in a year and a half so don't ask me too." 

She gathered her belongings and went to her dorm.

"YN, I'll meet you in the training deck, okay?" 

I nodded my head and went to go put on my armor.

The boys went to the mall, Pidge stayed in her room and Shiro and I started training. 

I started with a simple training activity, one that everyone did to form Voltron. 

Shiro covered me and I covered him. Coran was guiding both of us. 

"Adding in the sparring bots." 

"Cover me, Shiro." 

He nodded and I went from back-to-back with Shiro to taking down a sparring bot. 

"YN! Five o'clock!" 

I turned and saw a laser coming towards me, and I did a back handspring, deflecting it. 

"Successful flip, YN. Why don't we take a break?" 

I nodded at Coran who was in the upper tier of the training deck. 

~timeskip to right before dinner~

"YN, this has been a very successful day." Coran said through the intercom.

"I'm so proud of you!" 

Shiro pulled me into a hug and spun me around. 

I wrap my legs around his waist, even though I'm still in my armor.
