Laney's Point Of View;

It seems like all the exhaustion and fatigue I had went away all of the sudden, and they got replaced by a feeling of happiness and satisfaction. Why? Don't ask me. The conversation that Justin and I had made me realize that he was such a cool person, and I would be stupid if I didn't fall in love with his personality. I even bet that he was one of the popular kids in high school because of how he looks.

I woke up around 11am and I got out of the bed lazily to start my morning routine. I stripped down in the bathroom and started the shower. After a quick, warm shower, I stepped out of the bathtub and dressed myself in a pair of jeans and a crop top. I pulled my hair in a messy bun and stepped out of the bedroom to see Justin there laying on the carpet with his laptop on his chest.

“Hiya.” I spoke in a low voice, sensing the dryness of my throat from the lack of water. “Where is Cara?” I asked, my eyes scanning the room searching for her.

“Napping.” Justin replied, his eyes fixed on his laptop. “I've got so much work to do, sorry Laney.” He said with a monotone but I didn't really care because he looked like he was busy on his laptop. “I made pancakes for you with maple syrup, they're in the microwave.” He smiled with the corner of his mouth sweetly at me.

I looked at him in amazement. “You cooked for me?” I said with a gasp that left my lips. “Who are you and what did you do to Justin?” I raised my eyebrows, talking in a serious voice. I couldn't believe he cooked pancakes for me. I paced to the kitchen and pressed on the button that opened the microwave door, revealing a couple of pancakes stacked on top of each other with maple syrup on top. I took the plate and a fork then walked back to the living room.

“Does it taste alright?” Justin asked, his eyes stuck on his laptop screen. I gave him a nod, savoring the taste of maple syrup. “I have like 5 more hours of work and I will be free, do you want to go shopping for baby stuff like you said? I have money now.”

My eyes widened in excitement. “I would love to.”

“Oliver is on her way here to see Cara, is that okay too?”

I nodded hesitantly, Oliver was his older sister. She was his family, but I was still nervous about meeting her. His whole family seemed intimidating, he spoke about his family a lot. He always spoke about his mother, but I've never heard him mention his dad, which was odd.

After I finished the whole plate of pancakes, I cleaned the mess that Justin made in the kitchen and while I was there, Oliver arrived. I wasn't feeling like I want to meet anyone new, I was probably going to excuse myself and lock myself in the bedroom or something. She had the keys to the apartment so she didn't ring the doorbell nor did have to knock.

I expected Oliver to be a mean, obnoxious woman because of her family's wealth but the minute I saw her evil glare at her brother, I couldn't help but burst laughing. Justin had fallen asleep with his laptop on his chest and Oliver was standing next to him, looking like she was thinking about a plan to wake him up.

“Hi.” I greeted shyly, plopping on Justin's sectional couch.

“You're Laney, right?” I responded with a nod. “It's a pleasure to meet the girl who survived to live with my brother.” She joked, deciding to sit down on the chair instead of waking him up. “How's everything going?”

“Grand.” I replied with a smile.

“That's great.” She tilted her head to the side, her eyes focusing back on Justin. “Has he been asleep for a long time?”

“I have no idea, I don't think he had any sleep since the other night though, we were up all night last night.” I informed her, tucking my bangs behind my ears.

“I brought his car, I will leave the keys for him in the kitchen. Also, can you tell him that our aunt's wedding is on Friday and he has to be there?”

I nodded. “Sure.” I paused. “If you excuse me––”

Oliver cut me off instantly. “Are you two fucking?” She looked uncertain.

“Noooo.” I shook my head, standing up from my place. “Hell no.” I laughed, dragging myself to the bedroom.

“You mean not yet.” I heard Oliver say before I closed the door to my bedroom. I wasn't sure what she meant, why would she even ask something like that? I barely know her, and she's asking about my private life.

About half an hour later, Justin dragged himself to my bedroom like last night with a very sleepy look on his face that I thought he was sleep walking. He threw myself on the bed with his eyes still closed, a very upset look was present on his face.

“She took Cara again.” He rasped, sounding very upset. “Only for the weekend though, that was the deal anyways.”

I felt a knot forming in my throat, already missing Cara. “I'm sad.” I heard him say, stuffing his face in the pillow.

“Wanna nap with me?” And that was my cue to fulfill the wish that I've always wanted; cuddling with him. There was no way I could nap two hours later after I woke up, but I accepted the chance to be in his arms. He pulled my body closer to his until we were in a spooning position, his arm was draped over my waist and I could feel his warm breath hitting the back of my neck. Soon, I started to hear his heavy breathing and I knew he had fallen asleep.
