Laney's Point Of View;

“They're so annoying.” Justin said with a scoff, his eyes darting over the mother and her three kids that were moved in his room. His room was semi private, meaning that two patients stay at the same room. Justin was thankful that there wasn't any patient that stayed in the room with him but I jinxed it, telling him it would be fun if a young patient stayed with him.

Like I said, I jinxed it.

The patient was a pregnant mom with her three boys, they didn't look older than 8 years old and they were all hyper. They were from Spain––I tried speaking to the mom––and she was going to stay for at least a couple of days.

“I will literally shoot someone if they don't stop touching my daughter, I will freaking––” I crashed my lips onto his to shut him up and calm him since he looked like he was really going to kill someone. I felt him smile and he pulled away, his lips twitching in a smile. I returned to my previous position, laying my head on his chest.

“They're just playing with her, see?” I whispered, grabbing his arm and pulling him a little to the right so I would be more comfortable. Cara was really shy when it came to a stranger, especially kids. I don't even think she's played with a kid or a baby before since she looked scared. All the toys that were scattered on the floor were taken by the three boys and she just watched them play with her stuff.

“Uhm, I wanna take you somewhere if you're not busy.” I heard Justin rasp in a low voice. “I want to go home.”

I giggled, he sounded a lot like a kid sometimes. “Baby you did this to yourself.” I told him in a reassuring voice.

“Ugh, I told you I didn't think I would drink that much.” He argued, sounding more angry. “I'm sorry alright?”

I grinned. “I was just stating, I don't want you to apologize.” I let out a satisfied breath, glad that he feels a little guilty about the whole situation. After explaining everything to me, I realized it wasn't really my fault that he drank. He admitted that he lied to me about staying sober and even though I was disappointed, I liked the fact that he confessed about it.

“Babe...” Justin's soft voice snapped me out of my daze. “Is Cara trying to stand?” He asked, my eyes quickly darted to where Cara was. She was trying to hold on to a table and pushing herself up a little bit. I let out a quiet giggle so she wouldn't notice me and get distracted.

“I'm so proud of her.” I heard him state. “Baby come here.” He reached his arms out to catch her attention. Cara stuck her little thumb in her mouth and stared at us for at least a minute without doing anything.

Justin decided to get up and get her since she wasn't moving from her place. He made his way towards her and lifted her up in his arms. He bent down to get one of her toys to keep her occupied but one of the boys was holding onto the plush toy and wouldn't give it to Justin.

“It's a girl toy, why would you want to play with it?” Justin asked with a scoff, he was obviously annoyed at them for taking Cara's stuff. “Give it to me please.” He pointed to the toy then to himself in case the boy didn't understand English.

“Justin––”

Justin rolled his eyes after looking at me, Cara was struggling to get away from his tight grip. He suddenly stormed to the bathroom and shut the door after him.

“What are you doing–”

“She pooped alright!”

“There is no way in hell I’m going to diet.” Justin protested as soon as he hopped in the car, a few hospital envelopes were clutched in his hand.
