Laney's Point Of View;

While Justin was cleaning the whole apartment only using a cleaning cloth, I sat down playing with Cara with her favorite toy so far––Strawberry Shortcake. I was completely amused by Justinwho was whining about cleaning and not really cleaning. Besides, he wasn't completely sober, which made it more entertaining in my opinion. Surprisingly, he didn't have any mop around the house and the floor was coated with dust. I forced him to clean it with only the cleaning cloth, on all four. I felt a little bad but I refused to gave in and help him.

“She's so cute Justin.” I giggled when Cara suddenly found what was Justin doing interesting. She threw her Strawberry Shortcake plush and turned her focus on him. “She's watching you.” I announced, wanting to leave Cara to Justin but she would distract him.

“Daddy's dying Cara.” Justin joked, he was still on all four scrubbing the floor clean. “Cara baby,” he scrunched his face, staring at Cara. “My last word to you is––” A few fake coughs left his lips. “––is––” He coughed again then dropped on the floor, pretending to be dead.

All his acting caused Cara to giggle and thrash her arms around, wanting to play with him. I let her down on the carpet, knowing she wouldn't be able to crawl to him. She yet had to learn how to crawl, Justin spoke to me about that subject and promised he would ask the doctors on Cara's next checkup which was in a week.

Still pretending to be dead, Justin didn't move from his place, his face was pressed against the cold floor and his eyes were closed. I suspected for a second that he was really passed out because he mentioned that he was tired but I doubted that.

Cara's giggles didn't stop at all, and for the first time, she pushed her legs against the carpet until she was able to push herself forward. She moved her arms and continued pushing herself toward Justin. I held in a squeal, feeling extremely happy about her finally crawling. Due to the carpet, Justin probably didn't know that she was crawling to him. Cara finally reached Justin and grabbed a fistful of his hair, earning a whine from him.

“What the––” He ceased his eyebrows together, his eyes darting between Cara and I, not believing what he was seeing. “Did she crawl?” Asking, he kissed her little feet while staying laying on his front.

“Yeah.” I chirped, feeling a warm glow expanding throughout my body.

“You didn't tell me?” Justin's eyes widened as he sat up on his knees.

A smirk on his face. “Weren't you just dead a few minutes ago?” I questioned him, I knew he wasn't going to clean the rest of the floor.

“Oh yeah.” He rolled his eyes. “I'm still dead, by the way.”

I scrunched my nose. “You won't clean the rest of the house, will you?”

He shook his head, another giggle leaving his lips. “Nope.” He retorted, cradling Cara. “I'mma go put her in her crib.”

Nodding, I stretched my arms and realized how tired I was. It was nearly 6am and I was all night with Cara and Justin. He probably fucked Cara's sleeping schedule, she was up all night with us because of him. I headed for the bedroom and kept the door ajar. I switched on the small lamp on the nightstand and laid on the bed, my eyes fixed on the ceiling.

“Can I come in?” I heard Justin's voice from outside.

“No you can't.”

He snickered. “I will anyways.” He stated, pushing the door open. He stepped inside and his eyes wandered around the clean bedroom. Every single item was in its place, I was a clean freak and I hated when something wasn't in its place. After he was done inspecting the room with his eyes, he sat on the edge of the bed and crossed his legs Indian style.

“Cock block.” Justin snorted, biting his nails. “I'm sorry about sayin' that.” He apologized softly, his back facing me. “But you really were a cock block.”

I laughed at his attempt to apologize then fuck things up. “You were going to really do it?”

“Sex?” He asked suddenly, catching a glimpse of me from looking over his shoulder. “To be honest, yeah.” There was a pause before he spoke again. “I haven't had sex since I found out that Danny was pregnant, that's like 18 months ago?”

“You can survive without it Justin.” I stated in a 'duh' tone.

“I'm a guy Laney, what do you expect.” Justin said quietly, not even ashamed of saying that he was horny. “I was wiser when I was younger–Cara wasn't a mistake, we planned everything.” Justin exhaled. “I'm probably boring you to death so have a good sleep, Laney.”

Before he could stand up, I grabbed his shirt. “Sit the heck down.” I demanded, keeping him from leaving. “I like listening to you.” I blurted out, not regretting saying that to him. “I think your life is very interesting and the way you're living is just hilarious.”

“Why's that?”

“You sleep on the couch even though you had the chance to sleep on the bed before I came. This room isn't basically touched even though it seems like there was a war outside in the living room. You say you're broke yet you spend so much money on your wine and alcohol.” I concluded Justin's life in these sentences, which resulted in him burst laughing. “I'm just stating the truth.”

“Danny designed this bedroom and it reminds me of her, that's why I rarely come in here.” He pouted, dropping his head on the pillow next to mine. “I wish I could move out.” He closed his eyes, rubbing them tiredly. “And all the wine I have are mom's, she has a damn wine cellar and I steal from her all the time.” He seemed proud about stealing wine from his mom and it was funny. “I like pissing her off.”

“You're so mean.” I nudged his shoulder playfully.

“I know.” Justin chuckled, staring at the ceiling.

Flicking the TV on, I kept changing the channels to fill the silence between Justin and I. I settled on a stupid old movie that I had no idea what it was talking about. I changed the channel when the teacher and the student started making out, cringing at the thought of kissing someone 10 years older than me.

“Why did you change the channel?” Justin popped the question, I wasn't even aware that he was watching.

“I hate kissing.” I announced, rolling my eyes. “Just––ew?”

“You're way too innocent Laney.” He stated, crossing his arms on his chest.

“And you're a pig.”

He puckered his lips. “Can you resistant my lips? I would kiss me if I were in your place, you don't get the opportunity to kiss a guy everyday.”

“Will pass, thank you.” I joked, switching the TV off. “Night Justin.” I told him, wanting so bad to cuddle with him. I loved his hugs, I couldn't even imagine what would it feel like to cuddle with him in a cold night.

“Sleep tight.” I heard him say as he stood up and switched the lights off.
