Kyle took a shaky step out of Sophia's van, looking at the ocean nervously. Astrid put a comforting hand on his shoulder. He really hoped water wasn't his power. He really hoped Sophia was wrong.

Kyle was scared of the ocean. When he was younger, he had loved going to the beach and splashing in the waves. But, once, the waves just kept pulling him in. His mom had had to jump into the ocean to save him. Ever since then, he had a fear of the ocean.

That would provide problems if water really was his power. He stepped towards the restrooms at the edge of the beach. He quickly got changed into his swimsuit, and stood by the van. One by one, the others joined him.

"Okay," Sophia said, slipping in a pair of sunglasses. "You all are going to go into the water. I want to see how you all react. Play around, fight a bit, I don't care. Just be a little careful, please. Now, let's go."

Kyle took shaky breaths, trying to calm himself down. His heart beat against his ribcage loudly. He stood at the edge of the water.

"Are you okay?" Astrid called out, wading in the water. Kyle nodded, and saw a wave behind her. The memories of the last time he swam in an ocean flashed through his mind. He ran forward, water pushing him forward. He slipped in front of Astrid, and held up a hand. The save held still, and slipped back. Kyle blinked, in shock.

He looked down, he was standing g in the ocean. He was okay.

"Are you okay?" Astrid asked from behind him, her voice full of worry. Kyle nodded.

He was okay.
