We stopped and set up camp just before dusk. We were all tired and wanted to let the Prim rest. We would all need our energy for the rest of the journey tomorrow. To make it to Lumaera before dark we would need to leave at first light.
We all sat around the fire Kyrad had pitched and made small talk. Lettie passed around the snacks we had decided to bring. We didn't pack much. Just some bread and jams, water, and fruits. The journey was only a two day journey from the portal if your were using Prim. If you were walking it would take close to two weeks. According to Krysmond, that was time that we couldn't afford to waste.
Everyone had headed to their tent when they were done eating. There wasn't much to be said after the days events. I'm sure the use of magic had drained them, I know I was tired after my encounter with the Praem.
We were sharing tents since we wanted to pack light. Aerybella and Lettie shared one of the tents, while Kyrad and Krysmond was in the other. Aeryn and I were sharing a tent as well. We had laid out blankets to sleep on, as soon as Aeryn had laid down she instantly fell asleep.
I on the other hand had to much going on in my mind. I was thinking about the rest of the journey and imagining what Lumaera would look like.
I got up and sat back out by the fire. Thinking about everything that has happened in the last few weeks. Krysmond had did some weird wizardy thing that basically made it to where I never existed in the human world. I went from your average everyday school girl to someone who was suppose to stop the Daeth from destroying everything. And I dont even know how I'm suppose to do that. Yes, I've been practicing my magic, but will that be enough to stop them? Will I be ready in time?
You'll be more than ready. Eashek says, startling me. He comes over and lays on the ground beside me. They don't know this yet, but you'll have Aeryn by your side to help you. She has a big part in this as well.
What do you mean? I ask confused. Aeryn was said to be my protector. I thought her part in it would be to protect me. But what do I know? I'm just going with the flow of things.
He looks out in the distance, the flames of the fire dancing in the reflection on his eyes. Aeryn is almost just as powerful as you. She doesn't know it yet though, no one does. She may think she has orange magic, which she does. But that's only until she explores and finds her true potential.
I look back at the fire, thankful for the warmth surrounding me on this cold night. I think about what Eashek had just said. Aeryn was almost as powerful as I am. That means it would be up to both of us to stop the Daeth. When we get to Lumaera she would train and prepare with me.
The thought of having her help relaxes me a little. The burden wouldn't just be on me now.
Why haven't you told anyone? I ask. I'm sure if we told her she could search for it and begin training.
It's not something you can just tell someone. He says standing back up. They have to discover it themselves. She will come across it soon. When she does, the two of you will all but be unstoppable. He returns to his spot beside Aersyla and lays down. Goodnight, Kryselis.
I ponder on the things he had said to me for a few moments. When there was nothing left of the fire but burning embers I retreat back to my tent and fall asleep.
We woke at the first light of the following morning. Packed up quickly and left for Lumaera. The excitement in me grew more and more as the day progressed. I tried getting Kai to tell me about Lumaera a few times, but to no avail. He keeps saying I would have to see it for myself.
