“I accept you,” Declan whispered against my lips. “Just the way you are. I know you’ll have good days and you’ll have bad days but whatever happens I’ll be by your side.”

“You walked away once,” I whispered shaking my head side to side. “What makes you think I believe you won’t do it again?”

                “I won’t,”

“And how do I know that for sure?”

                “Because I promise you.”

“Promises stopped meaning something to me long ago, Declan.”

“Then you’ll just have to trust me,” he replied. “Trust me, Aspen.”

I closed my eyes and shook my head.

“Trust me,” Declan pressed as he cupped my cheeks and forced me to look up at him. “Open your eyes, Aspen.”

                I did.

And in that moment, I was gone.

“Baby, trust me,” he whispered. His lips brushed against mine and tingles shot through my body. “Trust me.” He repeated.

I nodded and closed my eyes again, “Okay.” I whispered.
