“Aspen, wait.” Declan called out as I headed towards my dorm building.
“For what, Declan?” I stopped and asked.
“I just need to talk to you,”
“About what?” I demanded.
“About everything!” he yelled. “I don’t get what is happening.”
“You told me to get my shit together. What do you think I’m trying to do?” I responded. “I’m trying to forget. Forget everything but I can’t. I am who I am because of my past. So either you fucking accept that or walk away because I don’t need a repeat of what happened with Roman to happen with you.”
Declan remained silent but he took a step closer, grasped my face between his hands and kissed me.
