Dinner
While on our way home, the words Kiel said awhile ago got stuck inside my head. Hindi ko alam pero bigla na naman akong napangiti. What's happening with me? I keep on thinking about it. Why?
Suddenly my phone vibrated. I received a text from the person that I least expected, Travis.
Travis: Where are you?
Why is he asking? Di ba alam na niya na umuwi ako kanina pang hapon dahil sabi ko sa kanila na masama ang pakiramdam ko? Without any hesitation I replied.
Me: At home. Why?
It didn't reached one minute and Travis immediately replied.
Travis: Really? 'Cause I'm at your house right now.
My eyes widened when I saw his text. What? Is he serious? Why the hell is he in our house? I replied back as fast as I can. He caught me lying!
Me: What are you doing in our house?
Travis: Your Dad invited us for dinner. Where have you been, Ellie? I thought you're not feeling well and you went home?
Me: I'll tell you when I get home. Alam ba ni Dad na hindi ako pumasok sa afternoon class ko?
Travis: I was about to ask him if you're inside your room resting pero inunahan niya ako. He asked me bakit mas nauna pa akong nakauwi and nasaan ka na. Well, I covered up for you.
Me: Anong sinabi mo kay dad?
Travis: I told him that you're busy with the booth for the College days dahil ikaw assistant leader. Mukhang naniwala naman siya 😅
I sighed in relief. Mabuti naman at hindi sinabi ni Travis na nag-cutting ako or else I'm dead. Kahit papaano, pinagtakpan parin ako ni Travis even though he's my ex.
Me: Thank you Trav! Malapit na kami. I promise I'll tell you as I get home 😊
It's nice that he still helps me and covers up for me kahit hindi naman kailangan. Mabuti naman iyong hindi siya nagtanim ng galit dahil hiniwalayan ko siya. Pero bakit pinagtatakpan pa niya ako? Ang bait bait niya kahit alam kong sinasaktan ko siya.
And when we finally arrived at our house, I saw the black Toyota prado, service car ng family nila Travis. It was parked in front of the stairs that leads to our front door. Manong opened the door for me at agad naman akong sinalubong ni Manang.
"Mam, nag-aantay na po sila Sir Anton, Sir Zach at Mam Teresa sa dining area"
"Sige, Manang. Pakilagay nalang po sa room ko" I took my phone out and handed her my bag.
I walked inside our house at agad nang dumiretso sa dinning table. There I saw my Dad laughing with Tito Zach and Tita Teresa. Si Travis ang unang nakapansin sa akin. He smiled at me. Napansin na rin ako ni Tita Teresa. She stood up and greeted me.
"Oh Elodie, darling! How are you? I'm so glad to see you. It's been a long time! Missed you, iha!"
Hinawakan niya ang magkabilang braso ko at bumeso siya sa akin. I smiled at her.
"I'm good tita. How 'bout you?"
"Nako! Ito pa rin, fabulous!" at humalakhak siya.
