Chapter Twenty-Three

Not Enough

Mabilis ang lakad ni Kiel. Hindi ko na siya nakita kung saan man siya papunta. I was just slowly walking and thinking about what's my next plan. I thought to myself, sa wakas I finally confessed my feelings for him.

Ang hirap talaga kapag tinatago mo lang iyon sa sarili. I always believed that life is too short not to do the things that you love or you want, so might as well do it because you only live once, but my passion... is not an inclusion.

I'm not sure where Kiel is going so I assumed that he's in our booth, kaya doon rin ako pumunta and I was right! Draeco Ezekiel Conrado was there sitting on a mono block chair and facing the table. Alex and Nico were still there, talking to each other.

Nang pumasok ako sa loob ng booth. Both of them stood up straight and looked at me. It's only Kiel who didn't move or even glanced at me, parang wala lang napansin. Back to the emotionless and suplado, Kiel? I like it.

"Are you two okay?" Alexis went up to me and whispered.

I gave her the best smile that I can give, so I can convinced her that we're really okay, kahit 'di naman. I can convinced people. I'm good at acting and faking. Alex smiled back at me too. We were startled when Kiel stood up and harshly moved the chair.

"Can we exchange partners?"

Nico looked at him with a confused look. Pati na rin si Alexis. Samantalang ako, binigyan ko lang siya ng poker face.

I know what you're doing, Ezekiel. You're trying to stay away from me. Avoiding me! Well.. wrong move, darling. I will do anything so you could see my presence, my face and everything about me until you'll like me back!

"Why?" tanong ni Nico.

"Yeah.. why, Kiel? Hmm?" I raised my eyebrow.

"I thought it would be better if two boys and two girls" he suggested.

"But it would better if boy and girl, diba? Para balanced" I teased.

He eyed me with his cold and dark eyes. Like he's trying to melt me. Parang nakikita ko ulit iyong umuusok niyang ilong at tenga. Gusto kong matawa. God, I must be crazy! Crazy over him.

"Just.. just forget about it" he gave up at bumalik na sa pagkaupo.

Alexis gave me a look. He pointed at Kiel with the used of his lips and asked.

"I thought okay na kayo?"

"Yeah, we're okay" and I smirked.

Kinuha ko ang isang mono block na chair sa gilid niya. He glanced at me. He thought na tatabi ako sa kanya. I tried to hide my smile.

No, hindi muna ako tatabi sa kanya. I drag the chair far away from him, pero nasa loob pa rin ako ng booth. I'm going to give him time and space, para naman maabsorbed niya ang mga narinig, nalaman at nangyari kanina.

Time to think about step number one. There are so many things running inside my mind. Scenarios kung paano ko makuha si Kiel. Should I follow him and Cassandra tonight, so I could check kung sila na ba? Or should I force Kiel again to ride inside my car and take him away from Cassandra?

Ellie, you are really head over heels with this guy! Why are you like that? I always get what I want, but this time it's hard. Very hard!

May mga students na tumitingin sa aming booth. They checked on our food. Sila Alexis na ang nag-entertain. I didn't stand up. I just sat there and looked at them. Tumulong na rin si Kiel sa pag-eentertain.

I observed his really industrious and hardworking. Magaling siyang mag-sales talk. Marunong siyang makihalobilo sa mga iba't-ibang tao. Like business was really for him.
