Gabi na at nagliligpit na kami. We were informed to close our booth at ten. Pero ubos na kasi iyong mga delicacies na binenta namin, so that's why we're already cleaning up.
The guys went to Nico's car, carrying all the trays. Me and Alex are left here inside the booth. Kanina pa niya ako pinagsabihan, bakit daw ako sasama ulit kay Kiel. Baka bigyan ko raw iyon ng meaning at aasa na naman ako.
Well.. the tables have turned, huh? She told me that Kiel might be the one who'll trip in the process, but why is she telling me na ako ang matritripped? When in fact, I have fallen already.
"Ellie, I thought you're going with us later? Bilis maka-oo" she hissed.
"Sorry, I really forgot about it" I chuckled and pouted.
"Hmm, ang dali makalimot kapag si Kiel na!" she paused and rolled her eyes. "Tsk, can't believe you're ditching us for that.. pa-fall" she gave me a face and shook his head.
I moved closer to her and hugged her from the back. She just crossed her arms.
"Lex, sige na! I'm sorry. I really am. Don't get upset" I pouted and even gave her a puppy eyes.
I rested my chin on her shoulder. "Sorry na.. please.." I said again.
Hindi siya kumibo. But I know she can't resist me. No matter how many times I disappoint her, she will always understand and accept me even though I'm a brat.
I poked the sides of her tummy. "Lex, please.. huwag na magtampo" I glanced at the side to see her reaction.
Her lips formed into a thin line. She looked at my hands that were wrapped around her waist. She let out a heavy sighed at kumalas sa aking mga yakap. She faced me.
"Ellie.." suminghap siya muna bago nagsalita ulit. "You've been giving so much of your time, your efforts... correct me if I'm wrong, also your money and this is for a one guy?! He's not even your boyfriend! My goodness, Elodie Miche! I know it's not right to mingle with your business but learn to know the limits" she furrowed her eyebrows and gave me a sad face.
The words got stuck in my head. I know she's just reminding me the limits, pero I think hindi naman too much iyong mga ginagawa ko para kay Kiel. That's just normal for me, except that I just treat him more special cuz he's different from my exes and flings.
"Alexis, I know how much you care about me. You worry too much. I can handle this. But thanks for the concern. I'm perfectly fine" I placed my hand on her shoulder.
She looked at me with pitiful eyes. She shouldn't feel pitty! Cuz, I'm really doing okay with Kiel. Hindi pa siya happy na nagkakasundo na nga kami ni Kiel?
"Aren't you happy for me?" pagod niya akong tinignan.
"Of course, I am, Ellie. But-"
"Then, this is what I want, Alexis. Unti-unti ko na nga nakuha ang loob ni Kiel and I swear, I have never been this happy for a long time" I smiled while nodding at her.
She sighed. Hinagit niya ako at biglang niyakap. "No matter what happens, I'm always here for you, Ellie"
"Thank you..." I whispered in her ear and smiled.
After we hugged each other I teased her. "You really are a Mommy figure. Marry Nicolas already" I gently slapped her butt.
