Gotham was often seen as the crime infested sister city of the shining Metropolis. But, the city had its own charm. It's tough edges taught people to stay on their toes and respect your superiors. This was a lesson that was crucial to building up character. The city made her inhabitants the most resilient people ever seen. The people typically carried a lot of Gotham pride.

I've lived in Gotham my entire life and can't envision being anywhere else. Besides being the daughter of one of the most feared mobsters has its perks. Sorry, that slipped my mind. I'm Red the daughter of the infamous Fish Mooney. Like a typical day, I woke up around 5 am to head over to the club in time to prep my mom's breakfast. I stealthily maneuvered around the mansion as I passed Bruce's room I felt a bit guilty. As his big sister, I should stay and console him. Instead, I was leaving him to have fun as a gangster's kid. I pushed myself forward as I told myself that Alfred would help him get through it. I needed to escape my posh life for my own therapy. I quickly ran out the house, across the garden and hopped the fence. In half an hour, I made it to "my" safe house only to be tackled by my best friend/roommate.

"You know I heard you coming from the next building over. Seriously work on your balance or else you'll get caught?!" Selina lectured me as she had me pinned on the floor.

"Yeah, I will. But, right now I don't need to be stealthy so I think I'll survive."I replied as I was allowed off the floor.

"You can't rely on your momma forever" Selina retorted as I made my way to the closet. I quickly grabbed my costume and went to the bathroom to change. Once I came out, I had transformed myself from golden girl Evelyn Wayne to merciless Red Mooney.

The apartment wasn't well insulated so I quickly put on my jacket. My mom, Fish, had given me that jacket when I was 10. I kept the jacket well maintained so that five years later it still looked new.

"Damn, Evie you look scary. I guess you're heading out now?" Selina complimented me as I stood in the hallway.

"Yeah, I am. I have to make breakfast. I'll save you something." I replied as I headed for the door.

As I closed the door, I heard her shout it better be good. I chuckled as I quickly descended the stairs and walked out the building. I made a few quick turns onto a deserted street and took a break at a deserted bus stop. The bus stop was 20 minutes away from the safe house. I didn't have to wait long for a familiar black BMW to pull up.
