Oswald P.O.V

Evy had been gone for a week now and I began to panic. My men and hers had scoured the city but there was no trace of her. I was tempted to go to the mansion, but quickly remembered that would be stupid. She would kill me if I got spotted at her doorstep, bringing work home.  I hated not being able to do anything. I felt angry  and anxious all the time which showed in my work. I was sulking in our office when someone knocked on my door.

"Enter." I growled as Zsaz came in

"Well you're particularly grumpy. Don Falcone requests your prescience. He has something for you." Zsaz ordered me which I quickly complied. He led the way to his car parked out back. The windows were heavily tinted so no one could see the occupants.

We arrived at Falcone's mansion in 35 minutes and entered from the back. Victor parked the car in the garage and led me to Falcone's study. He opened the double doors for me, revealing Falcone with his back to me. However, Falcone quickly turned to face me once the doors squeaked.

"Ah, Oswald my dear boy. I'm glad that you came so soon. I'm sorry for the vague message but it was too important." Falcone said

"It's no bother. I hope that this isn't too serious." I said as I tried to see what he was blocking

"I'm not so sure."Falcone said as he stepped aside to reveal Evy. She had some bruises and cuts on her face while she was gagged and tied to the chair. I felt me rage boil inside at how she was treated.

"Falcone, we had a deal that she would be unharmed! As I recall, you gave me your word." I screamed at Falcone

"Now, now my dear boy. I did nothing to her. I'm afraid that the bounty hunters I sent went a little wild. I took care of them once I saw her state. But, that can change very quickly based on the story you tell me. What exactly happened when Fish came back?" Falcone demanded as his eyes went dark and he gripped her throat.

"Fish attacked us when I was rehearsing for my grand opening. I was on stage while Red was critiquing me from the orchestra pit. Butch captured me while Fish tortured me. Zsaz came in just as Fish was about to bash my head in. During the gunfire, Fish grabbed Red before I could and took her out of the building." I answered as I watched Falcone's hand. His grip loosened allowing her to breathe.

"That's exactly what she told me. Thank you for your honesty. I just have one last question for her and you'll both be on your way." Falcone said as he removed the gag and her bindings

"Now my dear. Why were you on that boat with your mother?" Falcone asked as he held onto her wrist for a lie detector test

"For a fresh start away from this hell hole. After all you did take everything we had. It would be suicide to try again." Evy replied calmly. After a long while, Falcone finally let go of her hand. Once free, she practically ran into my arms as I held her close.

"Thank you both for your honesty. Its so refreshing to have loyal associates." Falcone said before nodding at Zsaz. "Victor take the lovebirds home safe and sound." He ordered

"Sure thing boss." Victor replied before tapping my shoulder. "Lets go you two. You can catch up at your place." He chastised us as he led us out of the room.

Victor escorted us to his car which was a 4 seater. I sat in the back with Evie and held her, peppering her head with kisses. Victor drove like a madman and we made it to the club in 15 minutes. The moment we had our feet on the curb he drove off. I brought her discreetly to her bedroom and helped clean her up.

She had a few bruises and a deep cut on her cheek. She had a few minor cuts too on her body that would heal soon. She looked unharmed which made me much happier. Once she was clean and in fresh clothes, I laid her on her bed.
