Red P.O.V

Last night was actually really fun. However, I couldn't recall how I got to my bed. I assumed Butch carried me until I saw a small note on the nightstand. I groggily rolled over to pick up the note.

Red,

I thought you might need these in the morning. You look so peaceful sleeping so I didn't want to wake you. Take it easy today, my little dove.

Love,

Ozy

I smiled at the note and downed the headache pills. The throbbing in my head was still pretty bad so I decided to call in sick. Thankfully, my mom didn't want me to do much. The war was ramping up so she wanted little involvement from me. For my protection, it would be easier if I seemed like a bystander. Luckily, Falcone was a reasonable man and would spare me if I was an innocent. However, I wouldn't be safe from Maroni being the competitions daughter. Today was full of book work and occasional beatings. My mom and Butch were out causing mayhem so I was in charge of the club. As I worked, I hoped to see Ozy around but he was no where to be found. I assumed that he was out with my mom. Butch and my mom came back around 3:00pm, two hours before the club opened. I was working in her office when they came in.

"Hey mom. Busy day?" I asked as I got up to greet her.

"Yes, very productive. I have some big new for you." She replied. I did as she said and sat down with her in the leather chairs.

" Oswald will no longer be working with us. That rat problem I went to deal with was him. I'm sorry dear but the umbrella boy was back stabbing us. He was going to sell us out to the competition." She informed me. My heart shattered at the revelation. I couldn't believe that after everything he would just leaves us to the wolves. I didn't even register my mom and Butch comforting me.

"I need to process this. I'll be in my room." I said monotone. My mom noticed my state and let me go. Before I went to my room, I snagged the whiskey bottle from the bar. Thankfully, we had extras and I desperately needed a drink. I quickly went to my room where I drunk the night away.

Oswald P.O.V

After being left for dead by Gordon, I found myself on the outskirts of town. I was thankfully for his mercy and my much better predicament. I needed to get back to town to begin my revenge. However, my main concern was keeping Evie safe in this war. To keep her safe from Falcone, I just had to convince him that she wasn't apart of her mother's plans. That would be much easier to accomplish than appealing to Maroni. He would be more inclined to kill her out of fear of retaliation. I had to think of something quick if I wanted to save her. Once I was out of the river, I began to walk back to Gotham in the hopes that Maroni would take me in. I still had luck on my side when I managed to hitchhike back to Gotham. However, my "friends" left early, which didn't bother me at all. Once in Gotham, i made my way to Maroni's.

When I got in the vicinity, Maroni's men were already prepared to kill me. I kept my fear inside as I kept my calm mask on. I began to make my way to Maroni who was enjoying lunch. But, his right hand man stopped me before I could get any closer.

"Wha do you want, freak?" He asked as he firmly held onto my shoulder

"An audience with Don Maroni. I have valuable information about the Falcone family." I replied ignoring the pain in my shoulder.

"Let him through. I can't resist a good secret." Maroni commanded. His henchman finally let me go and nodded at me to the table. I happily went and took the seat next to Don Maroni. We began to talk about who I was and my purpose. I gave him my real name and revealed how the Falcone family left me for dead. Now, I wanted revenge by seeing their empire toppled. I mistook his chuckles for a home run until he knocked me out.
