Happy Family?

Evy P.O.V

I was sore from training. Slade had beaten me pretty well. I had to adjust to closer quarters using the sais. But, I was better at the end & managed to hit a vital organ. He was well padded so I didn't kill him. He took the weapons for safekeeping along with the uniform. I snuck back into bed at 3 am & immediately passed out.

"Evy, baby. I have breakfast." Ozy whispered

I groggily woke up to see him holding a tray. It had two plates filled with goodies. But, it was clear whose was whose. He even added a single rose which made me blush.

"Did I oversleep that bad?" I asked as I took the tray & scooted over

"A little. I explained to them. They're hoping to see you for lunch or dinner though." He replied as he joined me under the covers

"I'll apologise again. Hmm, everything looks great." I said before kissing his cheek

"There's one other thing that knocks this out of the water." He grinned as I cooled my coffee

Breakfast was delicious. We ended up splitting our food between each other. Afterwards, I washed up & got ready for the day. I had to borrow another one of Sasha's clothes. I hoped that I wasn't emptying her wardrobe. We spent time exploring the house together before joining them for lunch. I apologised for breakfast which they were fine with. 

After lunch, Ozy's dad suggested that I join Grace & Sasha for a trip into town. Grace fakely agreed but Sasha seemed eager. I think she just wanted to play dress-up & keep the rest of her clothes. I freshened up a bit & went with them, leaving the boys alone.

Oswald P.O.V

Evy was still nervous & shy around my family. Everyone thought it was endearing & hoped she'd warm up. I knew she could be given more time. While they were out,  I spent time playing croquet with Charles. Father could only sit & watch but still had fun. Charles won & I was happy for him. I spent the rest of the day with Father playing chess while he went to write a novel.

"Love, we're home." Grace shouted from the entryway

"Coming!" He shouted as we went to greet them

"I see you found some goodies." Father chuckled as Sasha & Evy carried in several bags

"We all found a good selection. I hope you don't mind?" She replied

"I know these'll be put to good use. No need to worry. Shall we put them away?" He offered

"I've got it dear. No need to strain yourself. Sasha." She smiled before taking off with most of the bags

"Did you buy anything?" I joked as I noticed only 3 bags by her feet

"Yes. It didn't feel right splurging." She replied

"I should have sent Oswald with you. My dear you don't have to worry about money. Next time, I really want to see you splurge." Father laughed as he hugged her

"Now, you youngsters have fun. I'll be resting in the green room." He encouraged us

I grabbed 2 bags & led Evy back to our room. I helped her unbox & store everything. She got essentials, a few pants, blouses, dresses & shoes. A lot of the clothes were red, her signature colour. She took a quick shower & joined me for a game of checkers. We were even until she got ahead. She won the first game & I asked a rematch. We played two more games & I managed to win the last one. When we finished, it was time for dinner. 

Evy P.O.V

Dinner was filled with the same fake cheeriness. I stomached through it & focused on Ozy. He tenderly held my hand as we discussed ghost stories. Grace asked us if we believed & we agreed. Mr. VanDahl began talking about the house's ghosts while Grace laughed.
