Evy/Red P.O.V

I grabbed my gun & knife before heading out. We got in the Hudson & headed into the city. I directed him to Selina's apartment. I made them wait in the car while I went up. We were sticking out like a sore thumb. If we all left, the car would be gone.

"Selina!" I shouted after entering

"Yo Cat!" I yelled as I searched the place

It was clear no one was home. She hadn't been for a while. Knowing her, she was probably out stealing. I worried about fake Bruce being with her. I hoped that he wouldn't be violent after her kindness. But, I didn't know much about him. For all I knew, he was good at hiding his crazy like Jerome.

I left her a discreet sign that I was here. I made bullseye to let her know this was a major emergency. We used the dartboard to communicate about emergencies. The closer to the bullseye the larger the problem. I hoped she would be back soon & alone to read it. I headed out & made my way back to the car. Once I got in, Alfred drove us home.

"Was she there?" Bruce asked

"No, but I left a little message. I wouldn't be surprised if she stops by tonight." I said

"I hope so. I don't like thinking about him being near her. I should have agreed to help. She wouldn't have stormed out." He blamed himself

"Brucie." I said as I hugged him

"He would've looked for her no matter what. You can't fix earlier. But, you can make sure it doesn't get worse. You're already doing it by looking for her & leaving a warning." I assured him

He cheered up a little more. It made me feel better to have helped. We spent the rest of the time looking out the window. We were hoping to catch them prowling around. But, we didn't see them as we went home. Once home, we split up. I went to my room to call Ozy. 

Once I closed my door, I felt someone in the room. I looked up & saw Slade hanging on the rafter. He jumped down onto my bed as I went for my sword hidden behind the wardrobe. I barely got it in time as he charged me. I couldn't unsheathe it as I blocked his attacks. I went to kick his feet out but he rolled away. Finally, I unsheathed it & tossed the case at his head. He went to block it while I rushed & pointed the sword at his heart.

"Yield?" I asked

"Good but I can still kill you." He said as he pointed his sword at my jugular

"Hopefully, I'll get better." I returned as I waited for him to back off

"So long as you don't miss any more lessons." He glared as he sheathed his sword

"I didn't mean to disappear. Bruce & I were taken." I shared as I bowed 

"Taken by who? There were no signs." Slade asked, with hints of genuine worry

"A secret society running Gotham. The Court of Owls." I answered

"The Court dared to hurt you?! What exactly did they do?" He angrily asked

"They wanted us to stop investigating our parent's murder. We agreed in exchange that us & everyone we care about are left alive. I have to give them my backup copies." I recapped

"How do you know about the Court?" I asked

"You'll know more in time. For now, just know they are a means to purifying this city. But, they are supposed to leave our members alone. Ras was very explicit about the terms of our partnership." He explained

"I will tell Ras. I have no doubt he'll be furious. Well, I will see you tonight for training. I'll be close by. When you need to make the handoff, I'll be there." He instructed
