One Week Later
“You kissed him?” Rachel rolled her eyes. She loved Maria but sometimes she just wished she would back off with the interrogations.
“No, well yes. He kissed me and pulled away and then I pulled him back. Then I said some things and he left.” She couldn’t stand it anymore. She felt so divided. On one hand she wanted to be with Finn more than she wanted her next breath. On the other, she never wanted to see him again. It wasn’t so much that she hated him; like she had thought. It was more of the fact that she was terrified of being left again.
“He left?” Maria was trying to figure out why she didn’t know this information. She had thought Finn was still in Atlanta with Rachel. She would surely strangle Michael for keeping that secret.
“Yes. I thought you knew.” Rachel rolled over on the couch trying to get a little more comfortable. It was Friday night and she didn’t have a damn thing to do. She could easily find someone to hang out with, but she wasn’t in the mood. In all the years she and Finn were apart she tried to date. It was like a foreign feeling. She didn’t know how to act and then when she finally found someone she liked, she wouldn’t let it go any further than a kiss or a heated make out session. Rachel still held onto the fact that she would open her front door one day and Finn would be on the other side. She dreamed that he would tell her that he gave everything up to be with her because he loved her. And now he was telling her that he broke up with her because he felt it was the best thing for her? That just pissed her off even more. Why couldn’t he understand how she was feeling? How she felt when he walked away?
“No, I didn’t. That’s not important. What is important is that you kissed, again. Does this mean that you are going to give him another chance?” Maria asked hopeful. She knew how bad Finn hurt Rachel by breaking up with her years ago, but the love they had then is the same now. No, Maria thought, it was stronger because she knew without a doubt Finn would never break Rachel's heart again.
“Do you think I should forgive him? Hell he was pissed off that I didn’t tell my friends that I dated him. How childish is that?! He wasn’t here! He wrote me off like I was nothing, so why should I relive that moment with my friends? He wanted a separate life from me, so I lived it. Now, it’s my problem that he was hurt by it? I don’t think so!” Rachel hadn’t realized how upset she was about Finn's reaction to her friends not knowing about their past relationship.
“Rachel, think about it. You love him and he loves you the rest can be sorted out later. Don’t you want to grow old with him?” Rachel thought about Maria’s words but she wasn’t still so pissed off that he left when they fought last time. He said that he didn’t want to upset her and decided to stay with a friend before leaving the following day. She wanted him to fight for her, and he didn’t. She buried her head in one of the throw pillows and decided that why should she sit around waiting for him?
“You know what? Maybe I wanted to at one point, but right now I have a date and I have to get ready,” she didn’t really have a date but Maria didn’t need to know that. It was fine time she got her ass out of the house and stopped moping.
“A date?! With who?” Maria’s interest was piqued. She knew Rachel wasn’t dating anyone exclusively. But a date now, just when things were starting to progress between her and Finn? Maria knew what Rachel was trying to do, and it was her job to talk her out of it.
“This guy,” Rachel sucked at lying and she knew it. Worse than that, Maria knew her better than anyone, which meant Maria knew she was lying.
“Ah, huh a guy. Rachel, stop lying girlfriend. Even if you had a date he couldn’t make you as happy as Finn does, so give it up.” Maria called Rachel's bluff but never expected the answer she got.
“You know what? You’re right maybe he won’t make me as happy as I was with Finn but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a great time. And maybe just maybe this guy will teach me how to be happy again.” Rachel didn’t know where that came from, but she figured it was some left over courage she was saving when she faced Finn.
“Rach, I know you’re hurt but this is just pathetic. You don’t have to lie to me, I…”
“Lie? You think I’m lying? Well how about this, Miss I know everything? I’m going out on a date with a hot ass guy I work with named Brody, and at about eight give my cell a call and I’ll let you talk to him.” Rachel sat up from the couch trying to decide what the fuck she just talked herself into. Either way she was going to prove Maria wrong.
“Rach, I was only kidding…Rach? Rachel?!” And then the phone went dead. Maria wasn’t sure if she should believe Rachel or not. But she couldn’t keep this to herself. She hung up the phone and then called Isabel.
Yes I added Brody but if I added Jesse the 2% of me that actually ships st.berry would have them work for awhile so I had to pick the one guy I didn't like Rachel with and that's brody. Besides I want the guy that Rachel goes on the date with to be a Douche, and we would be lying if that wasn't brody😁
