Rachel peaked around the corner into the arena and paused to take everything in. She let her eyes scan the court until they came to rest on Finn. A smile involuntarily tugged at her lips as she watched him dribble the ball between his legs, then take a shot past the three-point line. The ball sailed effortlessly through the air before swishing through the hoop and bouncing onto the floor.

She leaned against the doorway and watched him for a few seconds. She still couldn’t believe that he was already back on the court. It had been a little over a month since they’d finally reached the conclusion that Finn would go back to the Celtics as soon as his knee was healed, and Rachel would go with him.

During that time, a lot had gone on. Rachel had gone back to Atlanta, and not only put in her two weeks notice, but had finished them out, as well. Since the lease on her apartment was going to be up in a month anyway, she went ahead and had all of her stuff moved out of her apartment, and had it put in storage.

Now, she was back in Boston, with Finn. To the surprise of everyone, Finn's knee was healing up a lot faster than anyone had anticipated, and next week would be his first game back. Rachel had all of her clothes and stuff moved into Finn's house, and had also acquired a new set of wheels, despite her protests.

As much as she’d hated to do it, she had to leave her Mazda back in Atlanta. She could have driven it back up to Boston, but she hadn’t wanted to make that particular drive. It was just too far. So, when she got back from getting all her affairs in order in Georgia, she found a brand new BMW Z4 Roadster 3.0i in Finn's driveway. He’d handed her the keys, gave her a kiss and told her it was all hers. They’d fought for two days about that damn car. Rachel had fallen in love with it the second she’d laid eyes on it, but she protested that it was too much. Her and Finn had yelled back and forth before Drew finally ran an interference and told Rachel that either she was taking the car, or he was. So, she took it, and that was the end of that.

The house in Atlanta was still being built and Rachel and Finn had plans of living it in, still. Finn knew how much Rachel loved the South, and truth was, the little time he’d spent down there, he’d fallen in love with it too. So, they’d made a compromise that on the off-season, they’d live in Atlanta.

She pushed herself off the doorway, holding onto the railing as she took the steps down closer to the floor so she could sit and watch Finn practice. One she’d reached her desired distance from the court, which was only a few rows back, she walked into the row, choosing a chair a few seats from the aisle. She slipped the strap of her purse off her shoulder and set the bag down on the seat next to her.

She watched, enthralled, as the guys on the court got into a formation and began working on their lay-ups. She felt a smile appear when Finn grabbed the ball, dribbled to the net, and made his lay-up shot. She internally rolled her eyes at herself for thinking that the simple act of Finn dribbling a basketball was sexy.
As Finn made his way to the back of the formation, his eyes landed on Rachel, and a smile instantly spread across his face. He gave her a little wave and puckered up his lips, as if to kiss her despite the distance between them.

Rachel giggled at him, but returned his gesture. She leaned back in her chair, crossing one leg over the other and giving her skirt a quick tug, hoping that from their vantage point, the guys couldn’t see anything they weren’t supposed to.

She glanced up to see Drew looking at her. She was slightly surprised when he didn’t wave, but instead, turned his attention to Jake, who was standing in front of him. Jake glanced over, then whispered something to the guy in front of him.

She didn’t pay them any attention, instead she reached down to adjust the strap on her high heels. Once she was satisfied that the straps were not longer pinching her ankle, she leaned back in her seat, returning her attention to the court.

“HEY RACH!” All the guys on the court, minus Finn, yelled at her not five seconds after she’d returned her attention to the court.

A blush immediately colored Rachel's cheeks as they all smiled at her. She glanced at Finn, who was glaring at each member of the team and she started laughing. She put her hand over her mouth to try to keep her laughter in, but since her shoulders were shaking, the attempt was pointless. She gave them a quick wave as Coach Rivers started screaming at them to ‘practice more, drool over pretty girls less.’, even though he gave her a little wave as he went back to studying his play book.

“Wow, they all really like you already.”

Upon hearing that, Rachel glanced towards the aisle where the voice had originated from. Her eyes landed on a girl with long, layered brown hair, brown eyes, and an infectious smile. Rachel guess that they were about the same height, and appeared to be about the same age.

Rachel smiled back at her, then glanced back onto the court. “Yeah, I guess they do, huh?”

“Yeah, they do. That’s pretty rare, you know?”

“Is it?” Rachel asked. “Why’s that?”

“Well, because to these guys, they’re more than just team mates. They’re a family.” She explained. “They look out for each other, watch each other’s backs. Try to keep each other from getting hurt.” She glanced out onto the court, then back to Rachel. “Although, I’m sure that with the change they’ve seen in Finn since you came back into the picture, they realize that you’re here to stay.” Before Rachel could say anything else, she spoke again. “Do you mind?” She asked, gesturing to the seat next to Rachel.

“Oh, not at all.” Rachel replied, picking up her purse and setting in the chair on the other side of her. Once the girl had sat down, and had set her purse down, Rachel held out her hand. “Hi, I’m...”

“Rachel Berry.” The girl replied, her eyes sparkling, that big infectious smile still in place. She put her hand in Rachel's and shook it. “I know.” She nodded. “I’ve heard a lot about you for a very long time, its an honor to finally meet you. I’ve been wondering if I ever would. I’ve been trying to get Finn to introduce you to me since you two got back together.” She rambled, then blushed in realization. “I’m sorry, I’m talking too much. I’m just so glad to finally meet you.”

Rachel glanced away self-consciously. “Depending on who you’ve been hearing things from, I deny everything.” Rachel laughed. “I’m sorry, you are...?”

“Oh, sorry.” She laughed at herself. “I’m Alexandra Wilson, but you can call me Alex, everyone else does.”

“You’re Drew’s girlfriend, aren’t you?” Rachel asked, instantly putting two and two together.

“When I bother claiming him, I am.” Alex giggled, looking back onto the court and blowing Drew a kiss. He stopped, mid-exercise to flash her a sappy smile and wave. “Yeah, see that look on his face, right there?” Alex glanced back at Rachel. “I don’t know if I wanna claim that.”

“He loves you.” Rachel nudged Alex with her shoulder, but couldn’t help laughing. “Although, that if a pretty goofy expression.”

“Yeah, and that’s mine.” Alex rolled her eyes.

“Well, Drew’s a great guy. I’ve gotten to know him pretty well and you’re a very lucky girl.” Rachel said, honestly.

“Aww. Thanks. It’s nice to hear that when I’m not around, he doesn’t act like the total numbnuts that I thought he did.” Alex glanced over at Rachel. “He... doesn’t act like a numbnuts, does he?”

“Every now and then.” Rachel nodded. “But that’s expected. He’s a guy. He can’t help his stupidity most of the time.”

“Don’t I know it?” Alex replied.

Both girls turned their attention back to the court, content to sit in comfortable silence and watch their boys play ball.
