Finn jogged over to the sidelines and grabbed a water bottle out of his gym bag before hoisting the bag onto his shoulder and making his way over to where Coach was talking about the good work he was seeing during practice.
Finn's eyes wandered over to where Rachel and Alex were sitting together, both animatedly talking about something and laughing. He couldn’t stop himself from smiling.
“Finn!” Coach barked, causing Finn's head to pivot back to Coach Rivers.
“Yeah?” Finn asked, having no idea what was said before his name.
“I was saying...” Rivers drew out, obviously annoyed with Finn's lack of concentration. “That it was good having you back. You’d know that if you’d stop drooling for just a minute.” Rivers raised an eyebrow at Finn, making him feel sufficiently reprimanded.
“Sorry, Coach.” Finn replied, scratching nervously behind his ear.
After a minute or so, Coach dismissed practice, and Finn immediately turned to make a bee-line for Rachel.
“Hey Finn, wait up!” Drew called from behind him. Finn turned just as Drew scooped up his bag off the floor and trotted over to Finn. “Seems like they’re getting along pretty well.” Drew commented as they walked towards their girls.
“Yeah.” Finn agreed, smiling as Rachel looked over at him.
“Hey, Alex and I were gonna go out to dinner tonight, you and Rachel wanna go?”
“Sounds good.” Finn nodded.
Rachel grabbed her purse off the chair and stood up, just as Alex did. The two girls made their way to the aisle and walked down a few stairs to step onto the court. Drew’s arms were immediately around Alex, as Finn's were immediately around Rachel.
“Hey there, boyfriend.” Rachel greeted, giving Finn a kiss.
“Hi babe.” He replied, before trying to pull away from her. “I’m sweaty.”
“I like it.” Rachel whispered, holding onto his tightly, and pulling his body against hers.
“Eww! Drew! You’re sweaty, get off me!” Alex swatted at Drew as he tried pulling her against him.
“You love it, Alex. You just don’t know it.” Drew replied, trying to keep a hold of Alex.
“See? That’s what normal girls do.” Finn commented, looking down at Rachel.
“When have I ever been normal, Finn?” Rachel asked, tilting her head to the side.
“Point taken.” Finn nodded, dipping his head to cover her lips with hers. After a moment, he pulled back and took a deep breath. “How is it that it only takes a kiss to make me to want you so badly?”
“Because I’m sexy.” Rachel shrugged, laughing at herself. Finn simply nodded, dipping his head again to give her a kiss.
“Alright, alright.” Drew’s voice stopped them, their lips a mere breath apart. “Enough with all the canoodling, you can do that when you two get home.”
Rachel couldn’t hold in her laughter as Finn growled slightly, turning to glare at Drew. “What do you want?” Finn asked between clenched teeth.
“Whoa, there.” Drew held his hands up in surrender. “Note to self: Don’t interrupt Finn when he’s layin his mack down.” Drew nodded to Finn. “Got it. Message received. I just wanted to make sure about dinner tonight? We on?”
Finn looked down at Rachel. “Its up to you. You wanna go, or not?”
“Yeah, sounds like fun.” She nodded.
“Alright. That Japanese place we like, at six?” Drew asked.
Everyone agreed and began making their way out of the arena and towards the parking lot.
