Rachel sighed, flopping onto her back. She was freezing, and she’d been trying for the past two hours to find a comfortable sleeping position, and so far, had yet to accomplish that. To top all that off, she had to pee. She’d been holding it for at least an hour, hoping that the sun would come up, but it still hadn’t.
Finally, she reached over, rummaging through her bag and found her cell phone. She didn’t get very good reception, so she couldn’t call anyone, but at least she could find out what time it was. She pushed the ‘end call’ button, so that the screen lit up, letting her know it was only 3:21 AM.
“Well, shit.” She mumbled to herself. There was no way she could hold it anymore. She searched through her bag for the flashlight she saw Maria put in it earlier. Once she found it, she crawled over to the tent opening and started unzipping it.
It didn’t unzip very far before the zipper got caught on the tent material and refused to budge. “What the hell?” rachel kept tugging on it, causing the tent to jerk every time she tugged on it. She finally got on her feet, so she was squatting. She grabbed the zipper with both hands, giving it a hard tug, putting all her weight into it for leverage. The zipper quickly gave and Rachel went flying back on her ass. “Oww ” She screamed, huffing before she grabbed the flashlight and crawled out of the tent.
Once she was safely outside and on her feet, she turned around and kicked the tent a few times, just to show it who was boss. She flipped on her flashlight, grabbing some T.P. and heading off into the woods.
She tried not to freak out over every little noise, telling herself that it was just her imagination. She threw the beam of the flashlight in every direction, convinced that Leatherface, or Jason, or Freddy was gonna come after her at any moment.
As soon as that thought crossed her mind, she ran as fast as she could into the woods, and quickly picked a tree. She peed as quickly as she could before hurrying back in the direction of the campsite.
She walked for a good two minutes, surprised that she’d gone that far into the woods just to go to the bathroom. She sighed, muttering to herself about how this was one of the main reasons she despised camping.
She looked down at the ground as she walked, glancing up every now and then to prevent walking into a tree. She stepped between two trees, and walked right into a spiders web.
She, of course, started screaming, wildly wiping away at the sticky web she’d gotten all over her. Once she was certain it was all off, she walked a little more quickly back towards the camp site.
She stopped dead in her tracks when she heard a twig snap behind her. She didn’t breath, or dare turn around. She stood perfectly still, listening to see if she could hear anything. She chanced a glance behind her, finding nothing but woods. She pointed her flashlight all around her, seeing nothing.
“Grow up, Berry. There’s nothing out there.” She scolded herself, resuming the walk back. She took about five steps before she heard something again. She stopped, once again, listening intently for any kind of noise.
All of a sudden, she felt something touch her shoulder. She started screaming as loud as she possibly could, before turning around, fists clenched, swinging wildly.
She closed her eyes as her fists connected repeatedly with her attacker. She turned to run away when she heard him talk.
“Damn it, Rachel”She stopped, whirling around, seeing Finn bent over, his hand over his eye. “What the hell are you doing?”Rachel stalked back over to him. “What the hell am I doing? I was going pee What the hell are you doing? Why did you follow me out into the woods? I thought you were a serial killer ”
“I heard you leaving your tent, and I came to make sure you were ok, and that you didn’t get lost Which, it’s a damn good thing I did because you’re going in the wrong fucking direction ” finn up righted himself, touching his eye gingerly. “I think you gave me a black eye.”
“Serves you right ” She crossed her arms over her chest. She was quiet for a moment. “And what the hell do you mean, I’m going the wrong direction?”
“Our campsite is that way.” Finn said, pointing to the left. Rachel glanced over to the left, before completely ignoring him and starting to walk that way. “You’re welcome.”
“Don’t expect to hear a thank you outta me I didn’t ask you to follow me into the woods, did I? ” She yelled, never turning around to look at him. “If it hadn’t been for you, I’d be going the right direction anyway ”
“Oh, so its my fault?” Finn asked, slightly amused. “How the hell do you figure that?”
“I heard you making all kinds of noises and it scared me, so I went the wrong direction. See? All your fault. Way to go, a-hole ”
Finn chose not to reply, just followed after her. He watched her hips sway from side to side as she took long strides in the direction he’d pointed her in. He pulled his lower lip in between his teeth, biting down to try to control the groan as he remembered what it was to have those legs wrapped around him.
Finn was so busy with his day dream, he didn’t notice that Rachel has stopped and turned to look at him until he barreled into her, knocking her over.
He grabbed her just before she hit the ground. “What the hell is your problem?” rachel asked, pushing him away from her and standing up. “First of all, what the hell were you moaning about?”
Finn blushed, not realizing that he’d not only moaned out loud, but apparently loud enough for her to hear it. “I didn’t moan, you’re crazy.” Finn decided that just denying the whole thing was the best course of action.
Rachel scoffed at him before turning around and continuing her trek back to the campsite. “Whatever you say, Super Star.”
After about three minutes of walking, they finally made it back to camp. Finn watched as Rachel went directly into her tent, zipping it up tightly. He sighed, pushing his hands though his hair and making his way over to his tent.
He got in and got back in his sleeping bag. He reached up, touching his eye and wincing. He knew it was already starting to swell up, and he knew it was going to be all black and blue tomorrow, but right now, all he wanted to do was go to sleep and forget all this drama was going on.
