The same honey eyes she once loved didn't have the same sparkle to them.
She knew where he was every night, but yet she told herself the same falsehood every time.
He said he was working or going to the studio, but the nervous disposition that radiated off of him told her otherwise.
She loved him with every fiber in her body but he could not say the same.
To him she was outdated; all the passion he had for her faded with time.
Yet he still stayed.
And she told herself that he loved her, even if she knew it was a lie.
Because to her just a little love was better than none.
And so it goes,
the cycle repeats everyday.
He comes home from working all day to greet
her.
Her eyes gleam in hopes that he would stay through the entire night with her just like he always promises.
But as the saying goes: promises are meant to be broken.
And broken was the perfect word not only this relationship but her.
He would eventually leave creating some excuse.
And she will sit at the table alone with tears in her eyes.
She'll lay awake and alone in a bed that felt all too big for just her.
He will return eventually.
And when he does he won't think she will notice the foreign scent encompassing his body and the peculiar marks on his neck.
But she does
although, she'll act like she doesn't.
She'll snuggle closer and rap her arms around him.
Because to her just a little bit of his heart is all she wants.
